    Warrington 10-23 Wakefield

Now it's Matty Ashton who tries to blaze through the middle in search of a touchdown to try revive Warrington's almost nonexistent hopes.

He puts the ball on his boot as he attempts to skip through, but the kick has too much on it and the ball runs dead.

Surely that's it now. There is no way back for the Wolves. Wakefield are going to be the 2026 Super League champions.

Former St Helens head coach on BBC Radio 5 Live

That's what makes the game brilliant. When it's like this and when there's desperation.

Warrington are great at playing off the cuff because they've got some tremendous athletes.

Wakefield have got to keep their feet moving. You've got to stay connected in defence, but you really can't critique them, it's just brilliant attacking rugby from Warrington.

    Warrington 10-23 Wakefield

Warrington are fast running out of chances to save this game.

They have taken a particular liking to the left edge, and this time Toby King tries to skip a kick through. Max Jowitt, however, is there for Wakefield to mop the ball up.

    Robbie Hunter-Paul
Former New Zealand international on BBC Radio 5 Live

When you're chasing the game you've got to take the opportunities that come your way and sometimes you've got to manufacture something from nothing and that's exactly what we've just seen there from Warrington.

Wakefield lost their shape and Warrington capitalised on it.

TRY: Warrington 10-23 Wakefieldpublished at 72 mins

    Arron Lindop

Warrington refuse to let their latest sniff of a try come to nothing and Arron Lindop is over for his and Wolves' second of the night.

The ball is whipped from left to right, and it takes a Hollywood offload from Albert Hopoate back inside to set Lindop up for his finish.

Ewan Irwin, the 18-year-old scrum-half, fails to add the extras.

Is this try too little too late?

    Warrington 6-23 Wakefield

Am I hearing cries of 'ole, ole' with each Wakefield pass?

Wakefield style themselves at The Mighty Trin, and right now that is hard to argue with as they go into poised and polished mode to try see out this Grand Final win.

Warrington stand-off George Williams has a stern look etched on his face after he is judged to have knocked the ball down when Mason Lino attempted to offload.

The Trin get the ball back well upfield from the scrum and will be looking to put this Grand Final result beyond doubt.

Is that Tom Johnstone try what takes the game out of Warrington's reach?

It was always a long way back for them, but from the restart the Wolves looked a little listless by their high standards and were again hard pressed to keep the Trin out.

The first league game I saw was a 34 all draw between Warrington Wizards and Dewsbury Celtic at Wilderspool. The Wire need to channel Harry Potter to get back into this!

    Michael, Wiltshire

Looking at Wakefield they have been on top of the game again so far I will be surprised if Warrington get back into the game

    Michael, Oldham

Always loved Wakey since I was a kid in the 60s. Great to see them doing so well again. COME ON!! You can do this.

    Michael, Halifax

That's not a typo, we just obviously have a lot of Michaels watching on tonight!!

What a finish from Tom Johnstone to put Wakefield back in command!

The winger thrusts his palm out to catch a fizzing pass from Max Jowitt, then he darts into a few metres of space before stepping through two attempted tackles to slam down Wakefield's fourth try of the Grand Final

The conversion fails to hit the mark, but Trinity remain well in control after that four-pointer.

Wakefield are hanging in there against a rejuvenated Warrington right now, but they are taking a few heavy blows along the way.

There's been a real energy shift in this second half.

It's Warrington with all the energy and it looks like the polar opposite of the first half where Wakefield were dominant and just chipping away at that field position but it's Warrington doing exactly the same.

Caius Faatili has gone down in some real pain.

He is wrapped up in a tackle, but his leg is caught under Sam Powell.

The referee might look at this for dangerous tackle, but it just looks like an unfortunate tangle of bodies on the replays
