England 0-0 France

The body language of England, they look a bit heavy legged, a bit tired, and France look more aligned. You can tell they play together at club level, and they're all on the same page. Really good start from France.

England 0-0 France

The best chance France have got is to disrupt. And we've seen quite a bit of that. England have had opportunities. They've not been clinical enough yet, but it's still early. France won't withstand this sort of pressure.
England offload a couple of times as they slice through the middle of the French defence but Harry Smith's kick on the last lacks a little bit of air time and goes unchallenged near the France line.

When you talk about chasing points, it's these moments where you rue those misses. A player of Matty Ashton's calibre should be putting that ball down.

England don't have to win it in the first 10 minutes - we saw that in the Papua New Guinea game against Samoa earlier. It was close at half-time and then Samoa just racked up the points.

England v France
Paul Rowley Castleford Tigers head coach on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra
It's a big game for England in terms of holding on to every last chance of qualifying, which is odds against, but we've seen too many twists and turns in this sport to give up on anything. They've got a job to do today. I think they'll do it comfortably. But they really need to be professional. Worry about the performance and the score will take care of itself.
A few shots of both teams in their dressing rooms. We are running slightly behind the advertised kick-off time for this match as the players make their way out in Perth.
