England need more of the same in the second half. Still some huge unknowns around if they will be able to qualify, namely can Tonga defeat Samoa in eight days time.
And before that, can Brian McDermott's side put enough points on the board today and defeat Papua New Guinea heavily to give them a chance of reaching the semi-finals.
The worst part of this WC format is the opportunity for a Samoa v Tonga carve up. That is the last group match and both teams will know the exact result needed to see both teams through whatever England can do before then. Absolutely shocking planning.

A fantastic first half from England. Really disciplined, really professional. The first 10 or 15 minutes is just building that fatigue in your opponents. After that, England have absolutely rolled them. The process will start again in the second half: Ten minutes, war of attrition and then roll them again. If they can copy and paste that first half, they'll get a great score.

The French one-on-one tackling is just not capable against a much bigger England side. France are in all sorts really. England just copy and paste, don't go away from inside those two scrum lines. Keep it nice and tight. Chaos, against-the-grain plays, and the all-important scoreboard will keep chipping away.

It's getting really sloppy defensively from France. Just take these France players on. There are missed tackles and they're getting tired. England are just starting to chase the numbers now.

Brilliant step from Harry Smith, who carves the France defence up and then puts in Herbie Farnworth to stroll in for a third English try. Hugo Savala is not missing the extras from in front of the sticks.

I was about to say it's a time for fresh legs for England. They did look heavy legged. I was thinking a bit more Jez Litten or Mikey Lewis to stay on that middle. I think France are there to break if England are willing to take those opportunities.
