It is Limerick's hunger, they are winning so much of the ball.

That is what Galway wanted to do, they wanted the possession.

    Jason Forde
    Three-time All-Ireland winner with Tipperary

Galway will be playing into a stiff enough breeze and their shooting ability will have to be strong if they are to have a chance.

    Back under way.

Can Galway fight back or will Limerick run away with it?

I would be pushing Conor Whelan closer to Jason Rabbitte as he needs someone closer to him.

Rabbitte is all alone up there, and Galway are going to have to score a goal or two to win this game and they can't do that when he is all alone.

Galway may have lacked concentration in the final few minutes of the first half as we were not getting shots away.

Galway cannot let the gap get any bigger as Limerick will then begin to sit back.

    Seamus Flanagan
    Five-time All-Ireland winner with Limerick

The concerning thing from a Galway point of view is how easily Limerick were able to get runners behind the back.

Darach Fahy made two huge saves in the first half.

Limerick will be delighted with that first half as they have been well on top, hassling and harrying Galway to force mistakes and punish.

But for Darach Fahy in the Galway goal, John Kiely's men could be in a very healthy position.

Gillane is on his game, they've seven different scorers to Galway's two and while the early yellow card for Mike Casey is a concern for persistent fouls on Jason Rabbitte, Sean Finn has moved onto the Athenry man.

Galway have two points from play and will face the breeze in the second half. They've it all to do.

  20. Half-timepublished at 16:10 BST 19 July

    Galway 0-8 Limerick 0-13

An absorbing first half comes to an end at Croke Park, with Limerick leading by five.

They looked like they were just starting to find their groove at the end of the half and have also squandered two big goal chances.

It will be a big ask for Galway to come back in the second period, but five points is certainly not insurmountable if their forward line can step up.
