"We played really well today, worked really hard and didn't give Galway the platform they were looking for.
"We starved them of that type of possession and were always going to be in control.
"We worked so, so hard and I am so proud of the lads. They have an incredible appetite for work, for the game and have an incredible love for their county. I am delighted they got the reward today.
"The last two years have been challenging and disappointing, but they stuck together and got their reward today."

Wehn Galway got out of the first tackle, Limerick turned them over in the second or third tackle.
Credit to Limerick, they are a wonderful team and showed that today.

Limerick outworked Galway and outfought them. They worked so hard in the middle third and made it so physical and hard for Galway on the ball.
You get the sense that this is not the end of this Limerick team, they will want more.

A throwback display from Limerick, who answered their critics in emphatic style.
They were ruthless and once they won the early arm wrestle, there was no letting goal.
The hurt of the last two years fuelled them and they saved their best for last.
Cathal O'Neill had a superb day, but Aaron Gillane, doubted coming in, was unreal out there with four points, a goal assist and could have had two more early in the game.
There may be more in this group yet.

"It is an absolute honour to accept the Liam MacCarthy Cup on behalf of this group of lads.
"To each and every one of you, the 37 men there. Since last September we have pushed this group.
"Talk about unity and great sportsman, they are phenomenal people. So, I just want to thank every one of you for making this possible.
"We talk about leaders and role models and to us, John [Kiely] is the greatest leader of them all.
"Thanks a million, this is genuinely for you."
