At the weightlifting. Big fan of the four lads who bolt on to change the weights and mop off the sweat and slavers on the bar. It's like watching a pitstop on the F1.

Lovely play from Jamaica to end the first half and they extend the lead to four points.

But Scotland are still right in this one after a fantastic second quarter. They won it 14-12 and have every right to believe they could cause an upset if they keep playing like this!

There's another for Niamh McCall but it comes from some excellent work from Emily Nicholls to nick the ball back on the edge of her own D.

Now it's Cerys Finn's turn! Scotland can't turn this one into a goal, though. They remain two behind going into the last minute of the first half.

You’ll be aware there has been lots of talk around how much these Games have cut through beyond your hard core fans. As ever, there are areas of Glasgow that appear to have caught the bug more than others.

One area that does feel full of Commonwealth Games spirit is Kelvingrove Park, where there are big screens, food trucks, and representatives from various sports offering kids the chance to give each a try.

The men's one mile final has long been slated as one of the defining moments of these Commonwealth Games. Josh Kerr and Jake Wightman just had to complete the formalites.

Saturday night will the big ticket event of these 11 days in Glasgow. Wednesday morning was the pre-show. Both in the blue of Scotland. Two big men who have raced since they were wee boys in Edinburgh.

A bigger crowd than both men expected turned up at Scotstoun in the west end of the city on a bright morning to watch the heats, which also included another world class Scot in Neil Gourley.

Injury wrecked his chances of qualifying for the final in his home town, but double Olympic medallist Kerr - who has just set an astonishing new world record over this distance - and fellow former world champion Wightman did their bit in fine style.

Kerr cruised to victory in the first heat, surging and dropping for the first half of the race before pulling himself away from any danger to cross first. And Wightman eased to second spot in the following heat to set up Saturday's showdown.
