Kimi Antonelli stands on the brink of history today but keeping the lead from pole position out of Turn One is a tough ask at the Circuit of the Americas.

The Mercedes driver and Max Verstappen in second place haven't had the best starts to races this season, so can the likes of Charles Leclerc, who won the grand prix from fourth spot in 2024, take advantage early on?

George Russell will be desperate for a good result in Austin to keep some pressure on his team-mate, even if the title is pretty much out of sight this year. Russell started as the overwhelming tip for the championship following his victory at the opener in Australia, but the campaign hasn't panned out in his favour.

Hello, folks. This could be the day a new world champion is crowned, as Kimi Antonelli has his first shot at securing the drivers' title with races to spare. It's only a small chance of glory, though, as the 20-year-old Italian also needs other things to go his way at the United States Grand Prix.

He's hit his first target of the weekend by securing pole position at the Circuit of the Americas and will start on the front row alongside four-time world champion Max Verstappen.

The two drivers who can still challenge Antonelli for the top prize, Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes team-mate George Russell, are lining up together on the third row in fifth and sixth respectively.

Austin in Texas is known as the live music capital of the world, so it's the perfect destination to hold a title-winning party. But will Antonelli be celebrating by the end of tonight's 56-lap grand prix?
