Vitor Matos has declined to comment on ongoing links with Andre Almeida and Ousseynou Fall Seck as Swansea City look to strengthen their midfield options.

Swansea are well-stocked up front after completing the signing of Ross Stewart and filled their left-back vacancy this week by landing Tiago Parente on loan.

That leaves central midfield as the top transfer priority, with Swansea believed to hold an interest in Valencia's Almeida (pictured above) and Randers youngster Fall Seck.

Matos told a fans' forum on Wednesday that he believes Almeida is a "really good player".

However, reports in Spain have suggested the former Portugal Under-21s international has doubts about moving to the Championship despite Valencia being willing to sell to Swansea.

When asked about the Almeida link on Thursday, Matos said: "There's so much information everywhere that I don't think I need to add something."

Fall Seck has won three caps for Senegal despite being only 19 years old.

Despite suggestions that Swansea are close to agreeing a deal for Fall Seck, Matos said: "Same as Andre, nothing to say about that.

"I know him because I watched Senegal playing.

"That's where I know him, but I know him and the other 10 players who were on the pitch, so nothing more about that."

We asked Swansea City fans for their views on what the Swans still need to do before the start of the new Championship season in just under two weeks' time. Is keeping Vipotnik most important or are further additions still the priority?

Christian: I think Swansea have done some good transfer business with the quality they have brought in, particularly in wide forward areas. I would like to see an additional defender to give some cover and competition, but I see midfield and forward areas now complete. Keeping Zan Vipotnik remains key.

Leon: I would like us to get a replacement in for Ethan Galbraith, add a backup LB just in case Josh Tymon gets injured and maybe another CB in case Ben Cabango or Cameron Burgess gets injured. Keeping Zan Viptonik beyond the transfer window would be a bonus too.

Robert: Let's hope that the manager has brought the right players in to make a top six challenge. Everyone will be disappointed if we are not able to compete this season with the big clubs. Time will tell.

Ezekiel: Some really smart business so far in the window. We still need a couple of fullbacks to just strengthen the back line and let's hope we hang on to Vipotnik.

Stephen: Keeping Vipotnik remains a must. After Franco injury we need another midfielder in and a LB to cover Josh Tymon now Sam Parker has gone on loan to Wycombe.

Clare: It's important that Swansea City keep Zan Vipotnik. Swansea need a defender that can play anywhere across the back and a midfielder.

Joel: I think one CM and a backup LB is needed. Bianchini, Cooper and Ronald need offloading. Wales should be loaned out. However, most of the squad is very decent right now, especially if we keep Zan the Man!

Chris: Keeping Vipotnik would be a great message from club. But we need improvements at centre backs and cover on the wings as well. A playmaker in the middle in front of Stamenic would be good – but hopefully that's Just. Really hope with the manager getting a new contract, that it is not another false dawn. Last season he did seem to have a clear way of playing. And with eight teams in the play-offs this season, anything but a play-off place would be a failure, I think.

Swansea City forward Kyrell Wilson has joined Belgian top division side KAA Gent for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Scottish Premiership side Falkirk, where he scored three goals and made one assist.

Wilson - a former Chelsea academy player - also had a spell on loan at National League side Yeovil Town after joining Swansea in 2021.

Despite featuring in multiple matchday squads, Wilson never made a senior appearance for the Swans.

Billy Clarke has signed his first professional contract with Swansea City.

The midfielder - who scooped the club's under-18s player of the season award for 2025-26 - has signed a one-year deal with the Swans.

Clarke, 18, scored 12 goals across all competitions last season for Swansea's Under-18s and Under-21s combined.

"It's something I've been wishing for for quite a while," Clarke told the club's official website.

"It's always been a goal of mine, especially when I signed my scholarship. I'm so happy to have that sorted now.

"I've been at Swansea for nearly six years now, which is quite less than a lot of the boys. I moved down here when I was 16, and I love it here."

Clarke, who hails from Cardiff, netted a last-gasp winner against Leeds United in the FA Youth Cup last season to send the Swans into the fifth round of the competition for the first time in more than 15 years.

Ben Cabango and Stephen Welsh missed Swansea City's friendly win over Leganes after complaining of sickness on Friday.

The two centre-backs were absent as Joseph Opoku's goal gave the Swans victory in their final pre-season game.

But Swansea are confident the duo will be available when competitive football returns as Vitor Matos' side they host Birmingham City in the Carabao Cup next Saturday.

With club captain Cabango and summer signing Welsh absent, Cameron Burgess and emerging youngster Filip Lissah started in central defence against Leganes.

While Lissah impressed, he is being lined up primarily to compete with Josh Key for Swansea's right-back berth this season.
