    Macauley Bonne made his last Southend appearance in their 3-2 defeat by Oldham at Wembley last season

    Experienced striker Macauley Bonne has left Southend United following the expiry of his contract.

    The 29-year-old former Leyton Orient, Charlton, QPR and Gillingham player scored five goals for the Shrimpers last season to help them reach the National League play-off final.

    Andrew Dallas spent the second half of last season at Morecambe

    Southend United have signed striker Andrew Dallas from Barnsley on a season-long loan deal.

    The 26-year-old Glaswegian started his career in the Rangers youth academy and had loan spells last season in League Two with Barrow and Morecambe, respectively.

    Yousef Salech struck twice in the first half as Cardiff City completed their pre-season trip to Spain with a 3-0 win over National League Southend United.

    Wales international Rubin Colwill was provider for both goals scored by Salech, who joined Cardiff in January.

    Cardiff boss Brian Barry-Murphy made wholesale changes for the second half, among them Joel Colwill, who scored a third late on at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia.
