Montrose made Aberdeen pay for Briana Salvetti's 34th-minute red card with a two-goal victory that leaves the visitors six points adrift of their hosts at the bottom of the Scottish Women's Premier League.

The defender cleared the ball off the line with her hand after 34 minutes and striker Kaela McDonald-Nguah stepped up to slot home the resulting penalty kick.

It took Montrose until 15 minutes before full-time to secure the points, with Demi Taylor setting up forward Louise Brown to tap home.

Montrose remain second bottom despite a second consecutive victory, one point behind Motherwell, who drew 1-1 with Partick Thistle, while Aberdeen are still to get off the mark this season.
