    Wrexham 0-0 Middlesbrough

There's a bit of needle as Neto Borges wins a free-kick in a nice little area in the Wrexham half.

It's looking a bit heated but no need for cards as they all calm down after the referee gets involved.

It's delivered well as Sebastian Berhalter finds the head of Adilson Malanda but it's into the keeper's gloves.

First shot on target. The forwards have been kept quiet so far, for both sides.

    Oxford United 0-0 Reading

In League One, Cameron Brannagan has fired off target for the hosts, who are rather lacking in ideas at present, picking up the ball from Mark Harris on the left and driving past a man before sending one of his trademark long-range blasts wide of the upright.

Cardiff aren't a bad side, and if you underestimate them, or have a bad day, they will punish you.

    Cardiff 1-0 West Ham

Jarrod Bowen has a pop from outside the box but the ball cannons off a defender and it's a routine save for Nathan Trott flopping down to his right.

    Boro haven't really threatened yet.

They need to be trying to get the ball wide to the likes of Conway and deliver balls into the box, get bodies int there and get on the end of things.

They've looked after the ball well but havent got a shot on target yet.

    Cardiff 1-0 West Ham

It's been an engaging tussle so far in south Wales. But the hosts have the edge.

    Bristol City 0-0 Wolves

Wolves dispossess City up their end and drive it forward at lightning speed.

It allows Adam Armstrong to have a straight duel with the keeper but it's Brad Collins who comes out victor as he saves the strike.

Just a little warning sign for the hosts.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:12 GMT 4 November

    Cardiff 1-0 West Ham

Soungoutou Magassa has followed his teammate into the book after a late challenge on Alex Robertson in the centre circle.

No arguments. He's understandably half a yard off the pace and it proved costly there.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:11 GMT 4 November

    Cardiff 1-0 West Ham

Max Kilman picks up a yellow card for not being able to make himself disappear.

Chris Willock beats him to a loose ball on halfway and nudges it past him before clattering into the defender an instant later with Kilman's hands already in the air in the sign of surrender.

  10. Postpublished at 20:10 GMT 4 November

    Cardiff 1-0 West Ham

Lovely approach play from the Irons as Manor Solomon skips in from the left flank and drives towards the box before exchanging passes with Jarrod Bowen but rather than trying a shot from 16 yards he lays it off towards Soungoutou Magassa who is on a different wavelength and the ball is pinched.

  11. Postpublished at 20:08 GMT 4 November

    Cardiff 1-0 West Ham

Ollie Tanner showcases his backtracking skills to follow the run of Taty Castellanos as he's threaded into green space 35 yards from goal but the Cardiff winger gets his body in the way and rolls away with possession to end a promising move from the visitors after a nice spell on the ball.

Cardiff are winning the possession battle 55-45% at present, though.

Because they kept Bowen, Soucek and Mavropanos they thought they had a strong enough squad to dominate Championship... Good players but you have to have aggressive strong players who turn up on a cold wet Tuesday night…

    Ron, Stoke

Really don’t understand West Ham’s ideas around hiring and firing head coaches and as much as I hope I’m wrong, Parker is not a decent coach and West Ham will regret this as they have done so since Moyes left.

    Bristol City 0-0 Wolves

Rafiki Said gets an early chance for the visitors but he's hesitant on the ball and ends up getting swarmed to burn out the attack.

He gets another go later on, cutting across his man inside the box and aiming for the corner of the net but he overcooks it.

  14. Postpublished at 20:05 GMT 4 November

    Wrexham 0-0 Middlesbrough

Wrexham work the ball around the side until Kieffer Moore nods the ball in front of goal.

Doesn't have too much power on it though and it's a easy collection for the Boro keeper.

  15. Competitive start in Thames Valley derbypublished at 20:04 GMT 4 November

    Oxford 0-0 Reading

    Dan George
BBC Sport at the Kassam Stadium

The opening 12 minutes here have been very competitive with Reading ever so slightly having the better chances so far.

Returning Royals striker Jack Marriott just had the first effort on goal which was an audacious overhead kick that lacked power and was comfortably dealt with by Simon Eastwood in the Oxford goal.

It's very chilly in Oxford tonight but both sets of fans have been enjoying themselves so far with plenty of verbal back-and-forth.

  16. Postpublished at 20:04 GMT 4 November

    Cardiff 1-0 West Ham

Very open feel to this game with both sides launching good breaks since the goal but West Ham's breaks down after an errant ball across the face of the box by Taty Castellanos while Chris Willock has seen a curling cross from the City left claimed by keeper Mads Hermansen.

  17. Postpublished at 20:02 GMT 4 November

    Wrexham 0-0 Middlesbrough

That could have been something from special from Boro's Kyle Joseph as he goes for the flashy bicycle kick in the box.

It's not a bad idea but he can't control it to see it wide.

Amario Cozier-Duberry, who created that chance, looking very good on the right flank this evening. He's up for this.

    Wrexham 0-0 Middlesbrough

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Radio Tees

I wouldn't say they're a big side but Keiffer Moore is big enough for a few of them.

So it's very important when they get the ball wide to cut those balls out before they come into the box.

  19. Postpublished at 20:02 GMT 4 November

    Oxford United 0-0 Reading

Not much doing in the early stages of tonight's sole League One affair at the Kassam.

Siriki Dembele has seen a low cross cut-out by Royals keeper Joel Pereira while at the other end Kyreece Lisbie has flashed a low cross across the face of goal.

"You're getting sacked in the morning," Cardiff's fans sing at Scott Parker, who was of course appointed West Ham manager this morning.
