Swindon Town have re-signed midfielder Danny Butterworth on a five-month contract until February 2027. The Robins have also announced the signing of forward Antwoine Hackford from AFC Wimbledon on two-year-deal, for an undisclosed fee.

Northampton have made their 13th signing of the summer and third of the day with free agent winger Owen Dale arriving at Sixfields on a 12-month deal.

And it's signing number 15 for Walsall with Antony Evans joining the Saddlers on a season-long loan from League One outfit Huddersfield.

To the Boro fan (16:06): Finn Azaz has more great games than average ones in a Saints shirt. Maybe it’s the manager you have that’s not helping with consistency among your squad.

    Jamie Brennan, Southampton

If my club, Cardiff City, don’t bring in a quality striker and right-winger, we will struggle to be anywhere near the top half of the Championship by January. Jack Moylan, Nathan Trott, Calum Scanlon and Krystian Bielik are very good signings but the squad lacks depth. We should go all out for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi at Crystal Palace.

    Lloyd, Cardiff

Any sign of life at Leyton Orient? They keep selling players to Scottish clubs and their star striker to Bristol City, but their recruitment so far has been less than impressive.

    David Johnson, London

Orient sold Dom Ballard - last season's League One top scorer - to the Robins on 4 August.

  3. Wrexham respond to Wilder jibespublished at 16:58 BST

    Deadline day

    Ian Mitchelmore
    BBC Sport Wales

I've just been at Wrexham's press conference ahead of their trip to Millwall tomorrow night, and there was a fair amount to unpack.

The Red Dragons expect to sign attacking midfielder Callum O'Hare from Sheffield United having already recruited centre-back Joe Worrall from Burnley earlier today.

Assistant Steve Parkin also spoke about Blades boss Chris Wilder's comments about Wrexham being "in for half the division" and their "blanket bombing" approach to the final stages of the summer transfer window.

"I did read that (Wilder's comments). Me and Chris go a long way back and he's no different to any other manager," said Parkin.

"If it looks as though key players are going to leave your football club, the natural thing is to be upset and I'm sure that was his reaction.

"In the cold light of day, we don't work like that. We earmark players we would like to sign and that's the way we go forward.

"I'm looking forward to meeting him and having a beer to see what he says to that."

In other news at Wrexham, defender Dan Scarr is poised to join League Two side Salford City and midfielder Elliot Lee - a three-time promotion winner with the club - is expected to depart today.

Parkin also described Conor Coady as an "outstanding individual" following the defender's departure.

When the hell are West Ham going to make a move for anyone? Still in dire need of a LB, CB and CAM. We need creativity and we're not getting the window we were promised by Daniel Kretinsky...

Brighton have agreed a deal to sign Nigeria winger Femi Azeez from Millwall.

The 25-year-old scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 37 games last season, earning a place in the PFA Championship team of the year.

Azeez has been pushing for a move to the Premier League, with Millwall rejecting at least three bids from the Seagulls in recent weeks.

His departure would be a club record sale for Millwall, who are set to receive an initial £12.5m - potentially rising past £15m with add-ons.

As a Stoke fan I should be happy about the business, but you don't win games on paper. Same as last year - we seem to have no quality beyond our starting 11. At least we haven't spent £300m to sit bottom.

    Chris in Stoke-on-Trent

Late afternoon on the last day of the transfer window and North End only have one first team striker and zero points from three games. Seems Cameron Archer has chosen Auxerre. I'd choose Bordeaux over Bamber Bridge as well to be fair, can't say I blame the lad. Worried.

No news on Lincoln as they are quietly adding to their roster. Could they be a dark horse? Just saying.

Would be great if there was some news from SE7. Charlton, top of table now, however just like Christmas lights, possibly start coming down in Jan. Need to build depth if we want to challenge for promotion.

Ronald could be on his way to Millwall before tonight's transfer deadline, with Swansea City sources confirming a fee has been agreed with the Lions for the Brazilian winger.

Ronald scored for Swansea after coming off the bench at Derby County last weekend, his 12th goal in 117 appearances since joining the Welsh club in 2024.

However, the Swans are willing to let the 25-year-old go as they are set to bring in Manchester City's Jeremy Monga on loan.

Swansea have already signed fellow wide players Joseph Opoku and Moussa Yeo this summer.

West Ham in serious need of a defence, is Julian Dicks available? Even at his age I suspect he's still better and more committed than our current crop of misfits. Nuno or owners needs to sort out this mess or we will be joining Leicester.

    Roots in Warrington

West Ham fans are collectively going bald with all the hair being pulled out. It’s clear that the physical presence of Disasi gave Mavropanos a new lease of life - he didn’t need to babysit Kilman! Loyalty bothers me. Diouf is only 21, season in championship would have been ok.

As a Boro fan I'd like Whittaker to stay and fight for his jersey as he's brilliant on his day, but like Finn Azaz he seems to have more off days than good ones at the moment.

    Mark in Chester

Wrexham feels like how Birmingham City did under Barry Fry all those years ago, just sign a player and hope he is the solution. They have got to be touching 35+ players now surely?

Understand defender Eiran Cashin has been spotted at Moor Farm ahead of a season long loan move back to Derby County.

He will replace the injured Matt Clarke who is set to be out for 3-4 months following an injury in their League Cup first round tie against Lincoln City.

On David Ozoh, I believe the preference would be a permanent move at this stage for Derby but long way to go if a deal is to be done between now and 23:00.
