It's not long until the Champions League draw gets under way in Monaco.

The 36 teams who qualified are split into four pots based on their individual Uefa club coefficient ranking.

Starting with pot one, each team will be drawn out individually. They will then be selected eight opponents via Uefa's automated software.

Paris St-Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are all in pot one.

A team will play eight games in total, including two teams from each pot - one home and one away.

The English teams cannot play against another English team in the league phase.

No group stage fixtures can be played against teams from the same country, or play more than two matches against teams from the another country.

This procedure will continue until the fixtures for all 36 teams have been decided.

Paris St-Germain underlined their status as one of European football's greatest ever teams by becoming only the second club to retain the Champions League.

By beating Arsenal, they became the first side to successfully defend their title since Real Madrid's three-peat from 2016 to 2018, and only the second to do it in the Champions League era - 1993 onwards.

Indeed, across the competition's 71-year history PSG are just the 10th club to win successive titles.

Is this their year again?

Just 89 days after Paris St-Germain beat Arsenal on penalties to win a second successive Champions League title, it's almost time to find out the league phase fixtures for 2026-27.
