  1. 'Almost a perfect day for Cardiff'published at 17:47 BST 19 September

    FT: Cardiff 3-1 Charlton

    Mark Poyser
BBC Radio Wales commentator at Cardiff City Stadium

That was more like it from Cardiff City.

Some terrific goals ending their wait for a first Championship win of the season, Jack Moylan's screamer of a second definitely one to watch again.

The only negative a nasty looking shoulder injury to striker Yousef Salech, last season's top scorer.

The decision not to bring in a second forward as cover in the transfer window could prove to be a mistake if he faces a lengthy lay off.

Charlton's winless run now extends to five games after a really disappointing display from the Addicks.

  2. Barry-Murphy pleased with first Bluebirds winpublished at 17:45 BST 19 September

    FT: Cardiff 3-1 Charlton

    Cardiff City

Cardiff City head coach Brian Barry-Murphy told BBC Radio Wales:

"I'm very pleased that all of our supporters get the chance to enjoy their evening, it was a very important game of us.

"We knew today's game was going to be tough but we played a great game, created good chances and today we took enough of them to win.

"We obviously had a real awareness of what Charlton do but we got into the spaces to create chances, and I'm particularly pleased with how we responded to their goal.

"Jack [Moylan]'s goal at a really good time for us as it gave us breathing space and allowed us to see out the game with a lot of control."

  3. 'Spitting accusation overshadowed show of character'published at 17:42 BST 19 September

    FT: Millwall 2-2 West Ham

    BBC Sport at The Den

On a day when eyes were focused on The Den with a fear that a fierce football rivalry could see the supporters of Millwall and West Ham make the headlines, it was one of the players that sparked the controversy.

Taty Castellanos is at the centre of the storm, after it was alleged the 27-year-old West Ham forward spat at Millwall keeper Filip Marschall during a pulsating game which ended in a 2-2 draw and with the Hammers down to 10 men.

The controversy, which unfortunately took some of the shine off an incredible contest, occurred in the 65th minute with the Lions leading 2-0.

Marschall was waiting with the ball at his feet until he was closed down, only picking it up to launch a clearance as Castellanos raced forward to apply pressure.

TV cameras caught Marschall, 23, appearing to show Premier League referee Paul Tierney a spot on his shirt he claimed was spit.

After the game, broadcasters were told Millwall had lodged a complaint to the match officials.

West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo speaking to BBC Radio London after their 2-2 draw with Millwall:

"It was a tough game. We didn't start very well.

"It was a very intense atmosphere. We didn't deal with the physicality, we were not precise in our passing, we lost too many balls then we got punished.

"The players showed up in the second half but at the same time I'm disappointed we knew the plan and we didn't do well.

"We are learning but we can't waste too much time."

Millwall boss Alex Neil speaking to BBC Sport London after losing their 2-0 lead to succumb to a draw against West Ham:

"It was the best experience I've had at The Den, obviously one of the best rivalries I've been involved in.

"The fans were sensational. I'm just gutted we couldn't deliver the win for them.

"If we've got everybody fit, the depth is fine but right now we are in a needs must situation.

"I don't think anyone can question that we gave everything on the pitch today so I'm proud of my players."

    Championship table

As another remarkable Saturday afternoon of Championship football concludes, this is how the table looks.

Most sides are now preparing for an extended international break, which will mean rest, recovery and, for some, a spot of globe-trotting to represent their countries.

At this break, Swansea City are at the summit (unless West Brom hammer Wolves on Sunday and lift themselves above the Swans on goal difference). Vitor Matos' side turned things around at Lincoln, having trailed at half-time, to claim all three points.

West Ham fought back at neighbours Millwall earlier to share the points, but they relinquish top spot for now. Stoke and Bristol City, meanwhile, have climbed into the top eight this weekend.

Further down the table, Wrexham's last-gasp victory over Southampton lifts them up to 14th and level on points with the side they triumphed over, while Sheffield United have slid down to 17th after a chastening seven days in which they have lost three times in all competitions.

At the bottom, Burnley and Derby both occupy spots in the relegation zone after the Rams struck late to leave Turf Moor with a point. They are accompanied by Preston, who blew a two-goal lead to draw with QPR.

QPR teams of recent seasons would have capitulated after that dreadful start but they earned a draw that feels like a win. Julien Stephan is really building something in W12 and I'm excited for the rest of the season!

Trying to secure your first win of the season, against Derby, and failing. We have a bunch of great players but they are just not performing for their manager. Should never have sacked Parker, he should have been given a 12-month contract to take us back up.

    FT: Burnley 1-1 Derby

Burnley will wonder where those three points drifted away from.

Derby huffed and puffed in that half, and it's a fully-deserved point.

I think that will send them into the break with confidence.

  13. 'No surprise Wrexham got the winner'published at 17:05 BST 19 September

    FT: Wrexham 2-1 Southampton

Credit to the players, the team, and Phil Parkinson.

He put things right there, that's what his teams do.

Wrexham had to hang on in there, Southampton looked slick, but wasted too many chances.

It was a completely different game in the second half, Wrexham grew in confidence.

There was no surprise they got the winner.

  16. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:57 BST 19 September

    Portsmouth 2-2 Blackburn

It was a match which swung one way and the other.

Portsmouth opened the scoring through Zak Swanson and Blackburn hit back quickly via Oladapo Afolayan.

Rovers then took the lead themselves thanks to Ryoya Morishita, only for Pompey to respond with an equaliser of their own - albeit a fortuitous one from the frame of Colby Bishop.

A point apiece it is, which both sides will have to take and move into the international break with.

  17. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:57 BST 19 September

    QPR 2-2 Preston

QPR claw back from two goals and a man down to complete a stunning comeback and salvage a point.

Kwame Poku pulled one back for the side before Paul Smyth finished the job in the 90th minute.

The R's bravery paid off and robs Preston of a first away win of the season.

Still, at least caretaker boss Paul Euell begins his job undefeated.

  18. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:56 BST 19 September

    Wrexham 2-1 Southampton

An own goal seals a huge win for the Red Dragons.

James Ward-Prowse equalised for the Saints but despite a dominating performance, it was Wrexham who desperately fought for an equaliser in the later stages.

Their doggedness paid off as Kevan Schlotterbeck slide in an own goal to give them a winner.

What a way to bounce back from such a harrowing 6-0 defeat at the hands of West Ham last time out.

  19. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:56 BST 19 September

    Burnley 1-1 Derby

Burnley remain winless and will spend the international break bottom of the Championship.

Mo Fuesini's goal in time added on gives the Rams a deserved point.

    That's an incredible strike.

Burnley have been so poor, I'm so glad Rams have got something here, especially before going into the international break.
