A curious half.

Rangers have been a whole lot better than they were in Europe in midweek.

Derek McInnes' side have had a grip on the game for long spells and should be ahead.

If they can sort things out in the final third after the break then they will feel they can get the three points.

Aberdeen started with plenty of energy, but that seemed to quickly fizzle out as the visitors started to dominate.

The Dons also have four players on bookings - so there is plenty for manager Stephen Robinson to ponder during the break.

It's all square at Pittodrie.

Plenty blood and thunder from both sides, but not the quality needed to break the deadlock.

Visiting manager Derek McInnes will at least be happy that his side have had the better of it and debutant Kim Min-su the brightest of the lot.

Aberdeen midfielder Afeez Aremu is the latest to go into the ref's book for a full-blooded challenge.

Olusanya is like a freight train when he gets going. His pace and power is unbelievable. He just sometimes forgets to take the ball with him.

Lawrence Shankland thought that ball was on a plate for him.

Great recovery by Aremu to stop a certain goal.

The Aberdeen defence can't do any better there. Unbelievable defending.

From the corner, goalkeeper Marius Muller parries clear a Lawrence Shankland header.

Thrilling stuff.

It looks like it has to be a Rangers opener.

Djeidi Gassama beats a couple of players and makes a 60-yard run before laying it off to Kim Min-su.

The winger's prodded effort comes off goalkeeper Marius Muller and just as Lawrence Shankland appears likely to slot home, Afeez Aremu is there to clear.

With Cadden golng in to the book, that is now two of Aberdeen's back four on yellow cards.

He joins Dan Happe on the tightrope.

It is getting pretty feisty in midfield and the Dons win a free-kick.

But Rangers break and Chris Cadden goes in the book as the right-back hacks down James Penrice.

I don't understand why Rangers aren't trying to get Curtis on the ball more often. He's making Aberdeen defend every time.

It's head tennis inside the Aberdeen penalty box following a corner, but the home side eventually manage to hook it clear - and breathe again.

There's just no penetration from Aberdeen for me. A lot of passing side to side. The only thing they've got is that long ball.

I thought Aberdeen would go right at Rangers, but they've let Rangers get into a groove and they're comfortable at the minute.

So close to a Rangers opener.

Djeidi Gassama gathers the ball on the edge of the penalty box, makes room for himself and the winger's low drive looks to be heading for goal before taking a deflection wide.

It's been pretty good in the past five minutes from Rangers. Devlin is disrupting play. That's what he's in there to do.

Rangers fire a couple of dangerous balls into the Dons penalty box.

It eventually bobbles to James Penrice, but the left-back's low drive is well wide of the far post from the edge of the penalty box.

I described Thursday's performance as the worst Rangers performance I'd ever seen - and I wasn't kidding.

They had a shaky start, but this is better than I was expecting. At least they are showing a bit of movement.

Some neat passing by Rangers around the Dons penalty box and Kim Min-su has a sight at goal.

However, the new signing screws his shot well wide.
