First real job for Boro keeper Radek Vitek to do today as Amadou Mbengue unleashes a pea-roller from outside the box which Vitek gathers with ease.

Down the other end Denis Cirkin has produced a timely block to prevent Will Lankshear's strike on target.

Marezi with his first Fratton Park goal!

Portsmouth double their lead against the run of play after a sharp start to the half by Cardiff.

    HT: QPR 0-1 Middlesbrough

The rate of injuries at QPR were alarming in the last two seasons and we cannot afford for it to continue into this season.

  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 BST 5 September

    QPR 0-1 Middlesbrough

Boro have bossed the opening half, but only have a one-goal lead to show for it.

Will Lankshear turned in Callum Brittain's low cross at the back post for his seventh goal in seven Boro appearances, but they have not managed to secure daylight, with Lankshear being foiled by Pierce Charles in added time after struggling to bring a ball over the top under his spell.

QPR's bid to avoid a first defeat of the season has not been helped by the loss of Ilias Chair and Richard Kone to injury.

  10. INJURY TIMEpublished at 15:50 BST 5 September

    QPR 0-1 Middlesbrough

Deep into FIVE added minutes at Loftus Road after those Hoops injuries.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 BST 5 September

    Burnley 0-0 Bristol City

Goalless, but not for the lack of trying.

Jed Wallace's curler was destined to put the Robins ahead until Max Weiss made a flying fingertip save - as close as either side have come in an end-to-end first half.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 BST 5 September

    Sheffield United 1-2 Norwich

Three fine goals, one exciting half.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 BST 5 September

    West Brom 1-0 Watford

The Baggies are ahead as the referee blows for half-time.

West Brom end the half in front thanks to Jimmy-Jay Morgan's goal less than ten minutes before the break, finishing from a central position in the box through a crowd of defenders.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 BST 5 September

    Millwall 1-0 Bolton

Lively game, but it's the Lions who have their noses infront.

Caleb Taylor's downward header from a deep corner not long before the break is the difference, though Sam Dalby spurned a good opening for the visitors and Tairyk Arconte might have done better with one for Millwall.

Very comfortable half for the Hammers.

    Portsmouth 1-0 Cardiff

    Advantage Pompey at the break.

That's thanks to Conor Shaughnessy's header, latching onto new signing Tyrese Shade's long throw and glancing it into the net.

Cardiff have had chances of their own but will have to do better in the second half if they are to leave Fratton Park with any points today.

Krystian Bielik came close early on with a header from a cross that flew inches wide of the target.

  17. INJURY TIMEpublished at 15:46 BST 5 September

    West Brom 1-0 Watford

Three minutes will be played before the break.

  18. INJURY TIMEpublished at 15:45 BST 5 September

    Portsmouth 1-0 Cardiff

We will have just one minute of added time at Fratton Park.

  19. Postpublished at 15:45 BST 5 September

    Millwall 1-0 Bolton

Glimpse of goal for the visitors as Samuel Iling-Junior's free-kick from the left is met by the head of Christian Forino but it bounces through tamely for Max Crocombe to gather.

  20. goal

GOAL: Sheffield United 1-2 Norwichpublished at 15:45 BST 5 September

    Mo Toure (44 mins)

Back in front! United had been on top but the Canaries get their dangerman on the ball in front of goal and Mo Toure just glides it into the far corner.

    Good game at the Lane.
