    Napoli 1-0 Bodo/Glimt

Napoli only needed 53 seconds to take the lead in their home game against Bodo/Glimt - and it is a lovely goal as Leonardo Spinazzola's cross from the left is met superbly by Matteo Politano's volley and the Italians are ahead.

You get the feeling already that Andoni Iraola may need to call on the likes of Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Bradley Barcola off the bench this evening.

We've played less than a quarter of an hour so far but Liverpool are yet to find any sort of rhythm whatsoever.

Villarreal have another pop at Liverpool's goal as Nathan Saliba spins on the edge of the box and fires just wide.

    Corner.

Floyd Samba is rapid and his quick feet earned Manchester City that free-kick.

Elliot Anderson stick his face into the danger area and converted, before taking a whack to the face.

  5. 'Absolute nightmare from Van Dijk'published at 20:15 BST 20 October

    Liverpool 0-1 Villarreal

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on Amazon Prime

Liverpool's back four made an absolute mess of it after 30 or 40 seconds, and an absolute nightmare from Van Dijk. A clear header, you can see what he's trying to do.

It wasn't a great clearance from Alisson, and then the ball gets played over the top by [Villarreal], and really under no pressure at all, Van Dijk just tries to guide it back to Alisson and gets it all wrong.

And then the touch down, and you're thinking can he finish it off, and he did it brilliantly.

GOAL - Man City 1-0 AEK Athenspublished at 20:13 BST 20 October

    Elliot Anderson (12 mins)

Enzo Fernandez takes the free-kick and it slaps off the crossbar.

The keeper had dived to his left so Elliot Anderson only has an empty net to poke in the rebound.

An early goal for the hosts.

VVD is a shadow of the player he was. Spends a lot of time telling others where to go and constantly waving his arms yet leaves himself short far too many times. Unpopular opinion but is he holding the team back?

What on earth is Kostas Tsimikas doing there with the most blatant push in the back you'll ever see?

  11. Postpublished at 20:11 BST 20 October

Manchester City win a corner but it comes to nothing.

All fairly pedestrian and sloppy from the hosts so far.

It's a really poor header from Virgil van Dijk.

I'm watching it again thinking 'does he not see him?' but the bright yellow shirt sort of gives him away!

Van Dijk thinks it's a comfortable header back to Alisson and he's right to hold his hand up.

The 680 travelling fans are making all the noise inside a stunned Anfield at the moment.

The pocket of yellow in the Anfield Road stand is having a great time.

What a touch that is from Phil Foden.

The play is switched and he takes the ball down beautifully on the right-hand side. Unfortunately for him the move breaks down after his cross into the area.

Virgil van Dijk has had a really shaky start and it's a gift for Villarreal.

That small pocket of the travelling support can't believe it. They're in dreamland.

  17. Sloppy from Citypublished at 20:07 BST 20 October

    Man City 0-0 AEK Athens

    Shamoon Hafez

It's been a sloppy start from Manchester City in the final third.

A couple of times now players have been dispossessed allowing Athens to break, but the visitors have not been able to make anything of it.

Poor start from Liverpool this and the last thing they need is their captain making mistakes like that.

No wonder Virgil van Dijk had his head in his hands.

Rayan Cherki is dispossessed in the middle of the park for the second time in as many minutes.

To be honest it's the visitors who have started the better.

  20. HITS THE WOODWORK - PSGpublished at 20:05 BST 20 October

    Paris St-Germain 0-0 Barcelona

Almost an early goal in the French capital. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia tries his luck from 25 yards out and the ball bounces off the left hand post, it drops for Ousmane Dembele and he has an unguarded goal to shoot into, but can only fire poorly wide.

The offside flag is then raised so Dembele's effort wouldn't have counted, but Kvaratskhelia's would have done, if it had gone in.
