Crystal Palace are attempting to hijack Sunderland’s move for Lyon’s Malick Fofana.
The winger had agreed to join Sunderland in a deal worth €35m - but Palace have made their own proposal.
It is now up to the player to decide.
Image source, Getty ImagesI’ve seen a little of Fofana playing for Lyon and he looks a talent. Got a good eye for goal and so far been able to produce in the league and Europe. As an Arsenal fan, gutted if he does to Sunderland and we didn’t get this over the line.

Well, Simon, he might not be heading for Sunderland after all...
Arsenal have been too passive this transfer window. The replacements for departing/injured players has been fine, but in no way has the squad been improved. Not a happy Gunner.
Barry
Arsenal fan - we're in trouble here. Our left side is now shot, no replacements; morale will drop, plus we have Chelsea flying high on signings and results on Sunday. That's got a Chelsea win written all over it. Something big better happen today for us.

Everton are working on a £5m Euro deal to sign the former Arsenal defender and midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Lyon.
The deals comes after the Toffees had a problem with the securing Kenny Tete from Fulham.
Everton had agreed a £9.4m deal for Tete but it seems Fulham are having trouble lining up a replacement and they won't sign off Tete until they do.

The 24-year-old joined Southampton in 2023 on loan before making the deal permanent in 2024 and scored 12 times in 134 appearances for the club.
Villa have paid an initial fee of £25m - with £4m in potential add-ons - for the defender after seeing two previous bids rejected.
He came up through Manchester City's academy, appearing for the senior team eight times before joining the Saints.
He received his England senior cap in 2024, where he scored on his debut against the Republic of Ireland.

One of the midfielder's greatest achievements with Arsenal was when he scored the winning penalty in a shootout against Manchester City to lift the 2023 Community Shield at Wembley Stadium.

The Reds are also closing in on Saint-Etienne’s Djylian N’Guessan. The France U20 international is a versatile forward and turned 18 on the weekend.

As a Villa fan, I think we have made some smart signings in reducing the average age and wage bill of the squad. Once the window finally closes and Unai can work with a settled squad I think there is reason to be optimistic for the future! UTV

Brilliant signing for Villa, Mbaye, Madjo and Manzambi all waiting to go. Who needs MSN when you've got MMM.

The clock is ticking for Joshua Zirkzee.
The longer it goes, the more likely it seems Zirkzee will remain at Manchester United.
Certainly that is the feeling from people around the situation currently, although obviously there is time for the situation to change.
There is also the option of moving to places where the window doesn't close today, including Netherlands and Portugal, although then United couldn't bring anyone else in.
Full-back Harry Amass is the other player who could leave.
