Aoba Fujino will be angry that she didn't get a shot away there. Kerstin Casaprij did well to make sure the ball stayed in play and send it back into the danger zone, but Fujino takes too long and PSG clear their lines.

City have definitely had the better chances and have started the game quite well which will please Andree Jeglertz.

He's been calling for them to start quicker in games. But they need to take advantage. PSG look dangerous on the break and the fans need a pick up in the cold.

Paris St-Germain try to break through City with a speedy counter-attack but Naomie Feller just went a bit too early with her run and the offiside flag eventually goes up.

There is VAR in operation this evening.

Even if you've never done a coaching course in your life, I think you'd just be saying 'keep giving the ball to Lauren Hemp'.

She decides to take it on herself, and you can't blame her because everything good about City so far has come through her.

Manchester City are playing some lovely football.

A sublime diagonal from Jade Rose finds Lauren Hemp on the left and there's a scramble in the box as PSG's defenders throw themselves at the ball.

It eventually ends up with Hemp again, but the England winger skies over.

It's borderline telepathic between these two at the minute!

Shaw catches it really well, it's a whisker away.

Oohhhhh. Now that would have been special.

Lauren Hemp waltzes past a defender and sends a trivela into Khadija Shaw, who swiftly turns on the edge of the box and rifles on the half-volley. It's just a tad wide.

Thar was sloppy from Laura Blindkilde Brown and Jade Rose as they each lose possession in the middle of the park, but Naomie Feller's effort from the edge of the box is a tame one.

Sakina Karchaoui has a pop from range, but it lacked any kind of power and wouldn't have troubled Ayaka Yamashita even if it had been on target.

It's pretty open so far. Both teams really want control but neither have had it so far.

I do think that's what's different about a Jeglertz City [team] compared to other managers is that unpredictability of people moving into other positions and having faith that others around them are going to fill in. Don't be surprised if we see more of Greenwood inverting and Fujino drifting across maybe to this right-hand side as well. That's what makes them so tricky to play against.

Alex Greenwood steps up for a free-kick after Lauren Hemp is tripped by Isabella, but the City captain's ball into the box fizzes all the way through.

Alex Greenwood has started at left-back this evening, rather than in her usual centre-back role, and she's already throwing herself into the mix with forward runs.

It's huge that Knaak is back in from the start tonight. The partnership that she build up throughout last season with Rose, they were instrumental to City being crowned champions.

A nice, steady start for Manchester City as they ping the ball about for a bit in their own half before moving forward.

Aoba Fujino whips a curling delivery towards the back post, but Khadija Shaw can't quite get above it and her header whizzes wide.

Man City v PSG (20:00 GMT)

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Andree Jeglertz speaking to BBC Two: "Of course we want to win games but we also know that the start of this group was Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and now PSG so it was a tough start. Like you say we haven't lost but we haven't won either. We know it’s going to be tough today also, so it’s not about winning or losing and then you’re out, it’s about trying to win the game and we'll do everything we can to [do] that and see how far it takes us."

On what he wants to see tonight: "Starting a little bit stronger. I think we have done that good in the league in the latest games but in the Champions League we have been a little bit passive. We can't afford that today, that's the first thing. "

On Bunny Shaw coming third in Ballon d'Or and whether that makes her hungry for more: "I think for her, she always wants to contribute to the team she always wants to score goals and do things so we can win the game. I don’t think that’s affecting her that much. She also knows that it's an individual prize and she's proud of being top three in the world and she's also hungry to be even better and that's what we need."

Not only will Manchester City be hoping to get their first win in the Champions League this season, but they'll be aiming to bounce back from Sunday's draw against rivals Manchester United in the WSL.

It was the first time Andree Jeglertz's side had dropped points this term, while it allowed Chelsea to jump above them at the top of the table.

City often looked disjointed and frustrated in the derby, unable to make their dominance count before United netted a late leveller.

Khadija Shaw deserved to be in top three [of the Ballon d'Or] for what she did last season. She probably would have got higher if they had been playing in the Champions League.

She's started this season brilliantly, scoring so many goals, made 100 WSL appearances. An unbelievable striker.

PSG midfielder Emilie Osteras speaking to BBC Two on the improvements they have made this season: "We have continued to work hard, we are a group with lot of quality, we just need to show it. This year we have been doing better and that's fun.

"We know Manchester City is a tough team. We want to compete with the best teams in Europe. Just need to go and play our game and be aggressive."
