Fulham

Fulham forward Josh King speaking after his side's 1-0 win: "I think we were really brave today. We played as a team who knew what we had to get, the three points. We worked so hard for each other from 0 to 90 minutes. That's where we have struggled before, getting the lead and keeping it.

"[Alex Iwobi] is a really special player and a joy to play with; for him to get the goal and help the team is massive.

"I think I would have liked to come away with something more for myself, like a goal or assist; they will come, but today was all about the team."

It’ll be interesting to see what Sergej Jakirovic says, but that was the weakest performance I’ve seen from Hull this season.

There was nowhere near enough quality going forward, a shade of the side that were so brilliant in this part of West London at Chelsea a few weeks ago.

That’s now five Premier League games without a win.

It was almost perfect, Al.

Plenty of jeers for John Brooks and the team of officials as they make their way off the pitch at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Enzo Maresca had to use his squad. I think that PSG game was a real test for them in midweek. They changed the whole midfield.

The victory has been a bit expensive. Mateo Kovacic, Matheus Nunes, Nico O'Reilly all went off injured. Antoine Semenyo looked like he was limping, so was Erling Haaland.

All important to get the three points with another important game coming in midweek. They come thick and fast now.

Enzo Maresca becomes the first manager to win his first seven games in charge in the Premier League.

In not so good news for City fans, Erling Haaland headed straight down the tunnel at the full-time whistle and was seriously limping. He didn't stop to clap the fans, pretty unusual for the striker.

Antoine Semenyo was not far behind him, also hobbling down the tunnel.

City fans will hope neither of those are too serious. It was like the walking wounded in those last couple of minutes.

There goes the whistle. Liverpool get the job done against nine-man Brentford as the Bees suffer their first defeat of the season.

That's that.

It was uncomfortable at times for Manchester City and much closer than they would have liked. But it's job done and that marks their best ever start to a Premier League season.

Bradley Barcola, what are you doing? Another one-on-one opportunity for the Liverpool man, but once again he takes too long and Brentford clear it.

Erling Haaland looks like he's hurt himself when trying that latest shot. Antoine Semenyo moving well either. Can City see this out?

Brentford are still probing for an equaliser. They may be down to nine men but they haven't given up.

Liverpool are clinging on.

Ayyoub Bouaddi gets on a run but Leif Davies brings him down and he goes into the book for it.

Ipswich have been brave and piled men forward.

Abdul Fatawu gets himself in a decent position but slips over.

City get back up the other end but Erling Haaland can't seal his hat-trick.

Ipswich are probing.

The try the square ball across the box a couple of times it's blocked. But one drops behind for a late, late corner.

Janelt can't have any arguments.

Brilliant from Ngumoha, tracking back and then wins the ball and drives forward.

Iliman Ndiaye looks for Erling Haaland but the pass is cut out by Issa Diop. Two minutes to go.

It's a second yellow card for Vitaly Janelt and he's off! Brentford are down to nine men!

The Bees captain bundled into the back of a breaking Rio Ngumoha and he can't have many complaints.

Six minutes for Brentford to find a leveller. Even with 10 men, it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

On VAR intervention for the penalty against Marc Guehi:

VAR Andrew Kitchen made an excellent intervention when he advised referee Farai Hallam to stop play and go to the pitchside monitor.

Guehi mistimed his challenge and fouled Fatawu in the penalty area. Ipswich were correctly awarded a penalty kick.

After that chaotic period, this has turned out to be a lot edgier than Manchester City would like.
