Luke Humphries needs to win this more for me.

It was only last year that he won the Premier League but he was so used to winning titles then. The pressure is on him.

The key thing about finals is the unusual length that you get to play. It seems very daunting if you're the underdog so you have to teach yourself that you can dominate periods - it is a learning process.

Finals are a different creature to any other round. They are for trophies or money, whatever you want to get out of them.

Gerwyn Price keeps getting into finals and he'll feel like he is building up to something and it is his time.

  8. Tonight's formatpublished at 20:15 BST 4 October

    Price v Humphries

As well as it being double-in, double-out, it's also going to be a pretty lengthy final tonight.

It's best of 11 sets, so expect lots of ebbs and flows.

Being able to keep up momentum will be crucial.

Everyone expected Luke Littler to get to the final but these two are both very experienced and they've had paths where they've had to overcome a little obstacle. They are deserved finalists.

Gerwyn Price found a way to win against Jonny Clayton in the quarter-finals and Luke Humphries upped his level in the semi-finals last night.

  10. Double-in, double-outpublished at 20:11 BST 4 October

    Price v Humphries

Unlike the rest of the sport's majors, this tournament uses a 'double in, double out' format.

The 'double in, double out' darts format presents a big twist to the gameplay.

It means that a player must start all legs on a double, rather than on any scoring zone on the board.

The use of 'double in, double out' has been in use in the World Grand Prix since its inaugural year in 1998.

  11. 'Humphries will feel it is his tournament to win'published at 20:08 BST 4 October

Luke Humphries was more consistent in every facet of the game last night. He was very steady at a high level.

That will make him confident that he can handle any challenge tonight.

He will feel like it is his tournament to win.

World number two Luke Humphries beat James Wade 5-3 to book his spot in the final.

Humphries averaged 96.92 and threw 10 180s as he reached the final for the fourth successive time.

Speaking after his semi-final win, Humphries told Sky Sports: "I've got to do it again because there's so many major finals I've let slip. Gezzy [Price] is playing well but if I play like that again, it's going to be a cracking game and I hope it is."

In the other semi-final, Gerwyn Price beat a spirited Nathan Aspinall 5-2.

The Welshman took a three-set lead as Aspinall struggled to reproduce the form that had seen him average 105.15 in his quarter-final win over Ryan Joyce.

Aspinall rallied to pull two sets back but price regained his composure and closed out victory.
