    Price 3-4 Humphries (2-0)

  7. Can Humphries break Grand Prix bad luck?published at 21:30 BST 4 October

    Price 3-4 Humphries

While Luke Humphries has won this tournament before, beating tonight's opponent Gerwyn Price in 2023, the other recent editions have not been as kind to him.

The Englishman has reached both of the past two finals and suffered defeats in each.

Last year, he was beaten by Luke Littler, while in 2024 he lost to Mike de Decker.

The first to six sets wins tonight.

  8. Humphries takes the leadpublished at 21:28 BST 4 October

    Price 3-4 Humphries

Don't you just love darts finals? Set play makes it so unpredictable.

Gerwyn Price is nowhere near Luke Humphries' level in the final leg and is all the way back in the 300s when the Englishman checks out.

Humphries has won four sets in a row.

This is so good, it really is.

Gerwyn Price's head is down and his body language is very different now. He's got to pick himself up here.

  10. Humphries breakspublished at 21:27 BST 4 October

    Price 3-3 Humphries (1-2)

It takes six darts for Luke Humphries to score and seven for Gerwyn Price.

The advantage and some good scoring means Humphries is the first to get to a finish, although Price is always on his tail.

He eventually wraps it up on double 12 to lead the game for the first time.

29 legs into the game, Humphries is ahead.

Oh, wow. What a leg from Luke Humphries.

Gerwyn Price doesn't score with his first three darts. Humphries finds an 11-darter.

    The game is level again.

We hoped for an amazing game and it is. I just hope it goes to 11 sets now. We just want to be entertained.

  13. Price holdspublished at 21:24 BST 4 October

    Price 3-3 Humphries (1-0)

That's an excellent response from Gerwyn Price.

He leaves 40 while Luke Humphries is all the way back on 230 after 160, 100 and 140 with his first three throws.

He then takes it out on double 10 to take the first leg of the seventh set.

    Price 3-3 Humphries

Oh, that is fantastic from Luke Humphries.

    152 to start, then a 134, then a 96.

72 leaves tops before Gerwyn Price is even down to a finish and Humphries seals the set.

    From 3-0 down to 3-3.

  15. Humphries holdspublished at 21:21 BST 4 October

    Price 3-2 Humphries (2-2)

A 120 start is excellent from Gerwyn Price. Luke Humphries can only respond with 32.

But slipping up and scoring 57 and 60 proves costly for Price as Humphries snatches the leg by taking out 74 with two darts.

Even though this is a long final, you still want to let your opponent know you're on it, you're still full of energy and you're up for it.

  17. Price breakspublished at 21:19 BST 4 October

    Price 3-2 Humphries (2-1)

Will Gerwyn Price restore his two-set advantage?

Some more strong scoring from Price in this one and he finishes with tops, tops on 99 to win the leg in 15 darts.

Price now throws for the set.

  18. Price holdspublished at 21:17 BST 4 October

    Price 3-2 Humphries (1-1)

No score to start the leg for Gerwyn Price but he manages to win it anyway.

He eventually leaves 94, but Luke Humphries is waiting on 40.

It doesn't matter, though, as treble 18, 20 and double 10 seal the leg for Price.

  19. Humphries holdspublished at 21:15 BST 4 October

    Price 3-2 Humphries (0-1)

Will Gerwyn Price find his groove again?

He starts well with a 120, but can only follow it up with 47. He then responds, though, with a 140 and is first to a finish after Luke Humphries only scores 60 - but it's an awkward 99 awaiting for Price.

Humphries leaves 100 to keep up pressure and there is 40 left for Price after he scores 59.

The Englishman makes him pay with treble 20, 20 and double 10.
