Gerwyn Price talking to Sky Sports about his health: "Nothing yet, I missed an appointment because I thought it was Tuesday, but it was on Monday. I've got an appointment on Tuesday and then it will probably take two weeks to get the results but fingers crossed I get the results that I want.

"I just keep saying I need to pick up two points and I keep going out in the first round. I think it is one more win, possibly two, but I'm just concentrating on the next game."

Michael van Gerwen talking to Sky Sports: "I'll probably need it. I'm definitely looking forward to it. I had a good day at the ProTour and it gives me confidence an hopefully I can bring that into tonight. That is more important than a high average, but we'll see.

"Tonight is definitely important but I'm not nervous. Closer to the time I will get adrenaline in my boy and I'll definitely want to do well, but I won't be shaking or anything - those days have gone. I love what I do. I'm playing against a very good player and there can be fireworks.

Van Veen leaves 54 so he goes 14 and finds double 20 for the first break.

Gian van Veen finds another 180 to take control of the leg. He follows it up with two more big trebles before nailing double six for the leg.

Now it's Josh Rock's turn to kick us off with a maximum but he can't follow it up.

He does manage to get down to 76, with Gian van Veen on 120. After missing four at a double, Rock finally manages to hit double four to level it up again.

Gian van Veen comes back, hits the treble 20 but can't find the double 10, after going inside on tops.

With Josh Rock only on 203, Van Veen nails D10.

And he misses the first T20 on the third visit.

Boooooo.

Now it's Josh Rock who bangs in a maximum and only needs 50 with Gian van Veen needing the big fish.
