    Wonderful from Rehan Ahmed!

Tossing it up, a perfectly disguised googly first up.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 21.1 overs

    Hollman c Cox b Ahmed 7 (Middlesex 71-5)

Leicestershire introduce spin for the first time as Rehan Ahmed becomes the fifth bowler used.

    He strikes first ball!

Luke Hollman gets a tickle on it and incredibly Ben Cox now has all five catches behind the stumps.

  3. Middlesex 71-4published at 21 overs

    Hollman 7, Higgins 16

A quieter over from Tom Scriven as the batters, Ryan Higgins and Luke Hollman scamper two singles apiece.

The crowd seem to be giving their vocal chords a short rest.

  4. Middlesex 67-4published at 20 overs

    Hollman 5, Higgins 14

A better over for Middlesex. They get seven from it including the first two wides bowled by Alex Green.

Luke Hollman finishes the over by igniting the flame throwers with his first boundary.

Green still hasn't managed the success that would make him the outright top wicket taker in the competition.

It's Ian Holland and Tom Scriven who've taken two apiece.

  5. Middlesex 60-4published at 19 overs

    Higgins 13, Hollman 1

Josh de Caires had hit his third boundary just before being dismissed but Middlesex are in big trouble.

Luke Hollman is the new batter and they need to get some sort of total on the board.

    Tom Scriven now has 2-14.

He's dragging himself off De Caires, but what an incredible catch down the leg side.

Delight for Scriven, despair for De Caires.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18.3 overs

    De Caires c Cox b Scriven 26 (Middlesex 58-4)

Brilliant from Leicestershire wicket keeper Ben Cox who's taken all four catches today.

He dives to his left to take a spectacular leg-side grab.

Josh de Caires can't believe it.

  9. Middlesex 54-3published at 18 overs

    De Caires 22, Higgins 12

Five come off that over from Alex Green including a welcome boundary for Middlesex as Ryan Higgins runs one down to third.

Not only have Leicestershire got those early wickets - but they are slowly suffocating Middlesex too.

  12. Middlesex 49-3published at 17 overs

    De Caires 21, Higgins 8

The Middlesex pair are trying to build a badly needed partnership, keeping the scoreboard moving with singles.

  13. Middlesex 48-3published at 16 overs

  14. Middlesex 45-3published at 15 overs

    Higgins 7, De Caires 18

Ryan Higgins prevents the over from being a maiden guiding the last ball through backward point for two.

He's denied the previous delivery by good fielding from his own bowling from Tom Scriven.

I've seen people really enjoying one-day cricket because I think it takes it back to what county cricket is.

  16. Middlesex 43-3published at 14 overs

    Higgins 5, De Caires 18

Ian Holland's excellent six over opening spell is over and he's replaced by the competition's joint top wicket taker, Alex Green.

Ryan Higgins gets off the mark with a square cut four.

An excellent stop from Nick Kelly saves four as Higgins tries to repeat the shot.

The batter finishes the over with a single.

This competition for me has got stronger and stronger each year since the restructure.

  18. Middlesex 38-3published at 13 overs

    De Caires 18, Higgins 0

You can understand Josh de Caires frustration having seen three partners come and go but surely he has to keep his wicket intact for now.

He takes a wild swing at the first ball of the over from Tom Scriven and misses.

He's also beaten playing a less adventurous shot two deliveries later but has more success with the next one, driving through long on for his second boundary.

And then he's beaten again. Good bowling from Scriven.

  19. Middlesex 34-3published at 12 overs

    De Caires 14, Higgins 0

This time De Caires gets his single off the second ball.

Ryan Higgins survives the rest of Ian Holland's over comfortably enough but without scoring a run.

Middlesex do benefit from the second wide of the innings.

  20. Middlesex 32-3published at 11 overs

    De Caires 13, Higgins 0

Once again Josh de Caires takes a single off the first ball and the new batter is quickly in trouble.

After Ben Geddes departs Ryan Higgins nearly follows second ball.

Tom Scriven's delivery beats the outside edge and misses off stump by a whisker.
