    Shubman Gill seems quite fond of Edgbaston!! A mere 430 runs in last year's Test match, and now a classy 80 today. Hopefully it is cramp rather than a serious injury.

    England have just been given a slither of hope here.

    In hindsight, they would've liked to have another seamer here so it's a juggling act for Harry Brook. At least now, there's two fresh batsmen in.

    Yup, short by a foot or two.

    Washington Sundar played up towards mid-wicket and set off for a single. Shreyas Iyer runs to the striker's end but doesn't put in a dive and Harry Brook's pinpoint throw beats him home. Ah.

    Both set batters gone for India. Out walks KL Rahul. They need 102 runs from 23 overs.

    I think Jofra Archer was aiming for a yorker but Sundar just anticipated that one and thudded it through to extra cover.

    As much as Liam Dawson batted really well, it’s really disappointing Rehan Ahmed can’t get a game. He follows the squad around carrying drinks. How is he ever going to improve?

    There has been talk of Sam Curran taking Ben Stokes' place as the all-rounder in Test side. At this moment Curran is playing the all-rounder nicely - his bowling is going all-round the park!

    He is furious with a slash and miss off the next delivery and is in visible pain after a second slash and miss.

    Gill calls for the physio and is bent double in front of the square leg umpire when he arrives.
