No great surprise that Gloucestershire have opted to accept the option of a second new ball at the start of the 81st over.
Kristian Clarke will get first use of the new ball - and they'd love him to match what he achieved with the initial one, removing both Northamptonshire openers cheaply.
Things have changed a bit since then, with the home side very much on top.

Undeterred, the young Glamorgan paceman surges in again and this time there is no doubt as a healthy nick is taken by Asa Tribe at slip, diving to his left.
Tom Haines has only reached 50 twice this season and he won't be doing it again today.

Kent have picked up just 27 runs for the past five wickets.

The first over with the new ball, bowled by Keith Barker fails to yield a much needed wicket for Warwickshire.
Instead Yorkshire secure their second batting point and the partnership between Luxton and Revis moves onto 92.

Somerset still pick up three though and Hermann is onto 95.
Sussex 92-0 v Glamorgan 155
Tom Haines risks everything as he calls for a quick single off Ben Kellaway but Tom Norton's throw just misses the stumps and the Sussex captain advances to 48 not out.
Singh c Bohannon b Livingstone (Lancashire v Kent 137-7)
After waiting five years for a County Championship wicket, Liam Livingstone now has two in a couple of overs.
Ekansh Singh flicks it round the corner but Josh Bohannon is alive to it and starts to move to his left in anticipation and then takes a brilliant catch from backward short leg.
Kent have slumped to 137-7 from 111-2 at tea.

Jordan Hermann uses soft hands to guide one down to the third man boundary for four off Dillon Pennington and now he's into the 90s.
He's 91*.
Northants 330-4 v Glos
Four overs to go until the new ball's due and you'd think Gloucestershire will more than welcome that opportunity.
Despite finally removing Saif Zaib, it hasn't yet led to further inroads, with James Sales 18 not out and Nathan McSweeney advancing to 108, his best effort so far in Northamptonshire colours.
Lancashire v Kent 136-6
Ekansh Singh drives hard outside off from George Balderson and it takes a thick edge through where gully would have been stood if Lancashire had one in place.
Instead, it flies away for four.
Yorkshire 295-3 v Warwickshire
Yorkshire have added 67 without loss since tea to maintain a dominant position. Will Luxton has nearly doubled his previous career best reaching 137.
The new ball is due soon so Warwickshire will hope for success with that.

Sussex 81-0 v Glamorgan 155
Zain ul Hassan ends up on his back in the middle of the pitch after a vain attempt to stop a straight drive from Tom Haines in his follow through. The boundary takes Haines to 44 not out.
There are still 27 overs to be bowled so we could be heading for a close to 7:00pm finish.
Foreman c Bailey b Livingstone 6 (Lancashire v Kent 132-6)
Liam Livingstone has his first County Championship wicket since 2021!
It's fairly wide of off stump and Bertie Foreman has a big swipe at it. He catches it well but it flies straight to Tom Bailey at point.
Foreman, and Kent, will be disappointed with that. Bit of a giveaway really.

That's three wickets in four overs for Adam Finch and Middlesex have lost three for four runs..
The ball seems to stop on Eathan Bosch and he paddles it to Matthew Waite at mid-on.
The new ball is due soon and Worcestershire will hope to get Middlesex out for around 250.

Archie Vaughan latches onto one outside off from Dillon Pennington and slams a sumptuous cover drive racing to the boundary for four.

Matt Critchley has scored 34 of the 50 runs added to the Essex total since his arrival in the middle, with four fours and a six included.
Jordan Cox has eased up a bit on his afternoon blitz of the Leicestershire bowling, but is still very nicely placed on 116 not out.
