Blackpool Tower was shrouded in cloud cover and rain this morning. You couldn't see the seaside town's most famous landmark even though its just a mile away from Stanley Park.
It emerged from the low cloud and drizzle just before 11 o'clock and now its standing proud with a backdrop of bright blue skies.
The conditions on the Lancashire coast have improved considerably and the forecast for the remainder of the game is excellent.
Liam Livingstone starts a Championship game for the first time since 2021, Lancashire also hand first-class debuts to Ben McDermott and 17-year-old Joe Moores, who will also keep wicket.
Kent hand a debut to Hasan Mahmud who becomes the first Bangladesh player to play for the club and just the second overseas player from Bangladesh to play in the County Championship.
Lancashire captain James Anderson has won the toss and he'll take the new ball.
Yorkshire 101-0 v Warwickshire
This is terrific stuff from Yorkshire's opening pair. They haven't given a chance during their century stand.
Just after reaching the landmark Will Luxton completes his half century, his third in first class cricket.
He's played positively. Adam Lyth has been more cautious but has still produced some glorious strokes.
Lancashire v Kent - start delayed by rain
The two sets of players are taking an early lunch at Lancashire, but the sun is now shining and play will begin at 13:10 BST if there is no further rain.

Northants 94-3 v Glos
Up to now, Gloucestershire have deployed only three bowlers - but finally they turn to their fourth seamer, Daz Ahmed.
Ahmed's opening over yields just a single to Saif Zaib, who retains the strike and then chops Kristian Clarke neatly through the covers for a boundary to bring up the 50 partnership.
Solid recovery from this pair after losing those three early wickets.

Somerset have stumbled towards 50 in this opening session as Jordan Hermann tries to drive through the offside from Mohammad Ali and skews it through mid-wicket for a couple.

Thomas Rew hits Mohammad Ali straight to Haseeb Hameed at cover and sets off for a quick single which is never, ever on.
Hameed has a free shot at all three stumps but cannot hit with Jordan Hermann stranded about halfway down the track.
Big chance for another wicket goes begging for Notts.
Sussex v Glamorgan 66-4
A slice of luck for Ben Kellaway, who top edges Jaydev Unadkat and is able to pick up a couple of runs as the ball finds a vacant area despite the best efforts of the Sussex fielders to cover the ground in time.

Out goes one Rew and in comes another as Thomas is in at five to replace his older brother James.
T Rew has to wait to face his first ball though, as he watches from the non-striking end as Jordan Hermann sees off three dots from Dillon Pennington after J Rew was run out.

A solid start with the bat for Middlesex but the news this morning that Ryan Higgins has an wrist injury that will keep him out for "a couple of months" will be a hammer blow.
Having lost the reverse fixture at Lord's, the visitors to New Road will know the importance of this game to their aspirations of being promoted.
Losing an all-rounder of the calibre of Higgins, thought to be second only to Ben Stokes in English cricket, feels as though it will have longer ramifications to his side's season.
How many of the final six round of games he can play will likely be crucial. Sebastian Morgan is the next cab off the rank in the all-rounder role, and as such Middlesex couldn't really ask for a better replacement to balance the side.
At 18, however, the county will expect performance levels to fluctuate - something that could be decisive in a division as tight as the second tier is this season.

Oh dear, Alex Lees.
He tries to pull a ball from Ben Aitchison which is 'on him' quicker than he expected and only succeeds in skying to mid-on.
Lees doesn't even wait to see if Harry Came has taken the catch safely - he does - before trudging disconsolately off.
Wicket 29 of the season for Aitchison.

Jaydev Unadkat returns for a second spell.
Ben Kellaway takes a couple of steps down the pitch and flicks it over square leg for four.
A confident shot given the score and the overhead conditions - he is 22 not out.

Jordan Hermann absolutely hammers a straight drive back down the ground but bowler Dillon Pennington gets a fingertip on it and manages to deflect the ball onto the stumps at the non-striker's end.
James Rew is backing up and has no chance of getting his bat back in the crease.
Rew has to go for 10 - and just when these two seemed to be settling things down a bit for Somerset.

It's looking like a good day to bat at North Marine Road. Other than a couple of lbw shouts and a few going past the bat, the Warwickshire bowlers haven't been able to create much menace.
Will Luxton and Adam Lyth have grown in confidence and are looking on top now.
Northants 80-3 v Glos
The sun's come out at Wantage Road but, strangely, that's coincided with the runs drying up for Northamptonshire.
Will Williams decides to give them a helping hand by spearing a ball to Nathan McSweeney way down leg side for four wides. It's perhaps even further off target than the first delivery of the match from Kristian Clarke.

Mohammad Ali is quick. He beats Jordan Hermann for pace as it strikes the Somerset opener in the midriff.
Hermann looks to get off strike with a quick single from the next ball but it's not on and James Rew sends him back.
Ali sticks a few up outside off but Hermann can't be drawn in and lets them go before prodding one into the legside for a single.

We have gone from the crash, bang, wallop of T20, to a rather sedate morning of first-class cricket here in CLS.
Durham were put in by Derbyshire, on a low and slow green top and they have been pottering along at three an over. The first six overs featured just a single in each. The first boundary came in the seventh.
The only wicket to fall saw Ben McKinney fall lbw to Nick Potts when offering no shot. It hit him on the knee roll bang in front of the target and he departed on 25.
Alex Lees has 25, while Will Rhodes has 10.
Sussex v Glamorgan 50-4
Glamorgan stagger to 50 in the 16th over at Hove as Sean Dickson tucks Henry Crocombe to mid-wicket for a single.
It's been a tough morning so far for the Welsh county, who need a substantial partnership to put the innings back on track.
