A first wicket out of nowhere for Somerset!

There's been very little for the home bowlers to get excited about so far but Jack Leach makes the breakthrough in the 14th over.

Rory Burns has batted aggressively early on, shown by his two sixes, and has been sweeping to good effect, but he goes for one sweep too many and top edges to give Tom Abell a simple catch on the run.

Is that the trigger that Somerset need to get motoring?

    Nottinghamshire 32-0 v Yorkshire

A steady start for Nottinghamshire following a Jack White maiden.

All-rounder George Hill, who has impressed this season for Yorkshire, is into the attack.

    Warks v Leics 27-3

Ethan Bamber (1-12) and Chris Woakes (2-11) have shared the first 12 overs with the new ball and given Warwickshire an excellent start with three early wickets at Edgbaston.

Bamber will continue for a seventh over.

    Kent v Glos 29-1

Double change by Kent as the introduction of Khaled Ahmed is followed by Keith Dudgeon being called up to bowl his first over of the day.

The final delivery is cut away for four by Tommy Boorman, who moves his score into double figures.

Rory Burns smashes Craig Overton into the stands for his second six of the morning already.

Surrey openers Burns and Sibley have almost moved them up to 50 and there's not been much for Somerset's bowlers so far.

    Harrison c Geddes b Ferns 1 (Middx v Northants 33-4)

Danru Ferns strikes with his very first ball for his new side at Lord's! Northamptonshire in all sorts of bother now.

Calvin Harrison cannot believe what he has just done. Rocking back he hits on the up straight to Ben Geddes who is positioned perfectly at cover to take a simple catch.

That one was an absolute gimme. Northamptonshire, after winning the toss and choosing to bat, are four down just over 10 overs in.

    Kent v Glos 25-1

Ollie Price guides a wide one from Matt Milness down past the slips for four.

The next ball is too full and punched past mid-on for another boundary by the Gloucestershire opener.

    Lancs v Durham 27-1

We don't want to jinx him but Emilio Gay does seem in great nick this morning.

Mitch Stanley overpitches twice in his latest over and it costs him two boundaries, both driven through the covers with minimum fuss.

From a Surrey perspective, the challenge here is bat big, bat long, and try to finish the season with that in your back pocket and then let the spinners get to work.

    Problems for promotion-hunting Northamptonshire!

Ryan Higgins strikes again and catches the edge of Saif Zaib.

The ball just about carries to Tom Helm who gets down low well to make a safe catch at first slip.

Bad morning so far for the visitors. Middlesex, and Kent fans, will be delighted with how things are currently going at Lord's.

    Kent v Glos 15-1

Matt Quinn drops short and Tommy Boorman pulls for four.

It looked a little high on the bat but Boorman made good enough contact to reach the rope.

  13. Postpublished at 11:10 BST 24 September

    Hampshire v Sussex 17-1

Hampshire's veteran seamer Kyle Abbott has dismissed Tom Haines, the Sussex opener edging to Joe Weatherley at slip.

Tom Clark and Charlie Tear are the not out batters for the visitors.

Not a massive amount riding on this match, with Hampshire already relegated and Sussex out of title contention.

  14. 6 runs

for Rory Burnspublished at 11:09 BST 24 September

    Somerset v Surrey 34-0

The first six of the innings as Rory Burns picks up Jack Leach's delivery early and slog sweeps it into the car park.

Burns hit a four just before that so a little expensive from Leach and Surrey are looking comfortable at present.

    Nottinghamshire 19-0 v Yorkshire

Ben Coad can feel a little bit hard done by not having one in the wicket column already.

Haseeb Hameed gets a leading edge which is lucky to land safe.

Yorkshire have bowled consistently this morning without making a breakthrough in the first nine overs.

Jack White is on to bowl for the first time in the match.

    Glamorgan 14-0 Essex

    Luke Hemmings
    BBC Sport Wales

A gentle start from Glamorgan as we approach the eighth over. Asa Tribe could have fallen early for Glamorgan with a dropped catch in the second over by Essex. Overall a quiet start in a match that appears to have very little left to play for - but of course that could change ...

  18. Latest from New Roadpublished at 11:03 BST 24 September

    Worcs 30-1 v Derbys

The Dan Lategan cameo is over.

He hit five fours in his 26 off 21 balls but drove hard at the opening ball of a new Muhammad Abbas over and Martin Andersson took a shoulder-high catch at the second attempt at second slip.

    Warks v Leics 19-3

    Dermot Reeve
Former Warwickshire captain on BBC Radio WM

Warwickshire have been on such form with the ball in the past few games that it wasn't really a surprise that Ethan Bamber runs up and hits the poles in the first over.

It was a brave decision by Leicestershire to bat first but it's not looking good for them at the moment because it's nipping around a bit.

  20. Postpublished at 11:01 BST 24 September

    Lancs v Durham 20-1

That's the way to do it.

Tom Bailey finds a bit of away swing but Emilio Gay steps towards the pitch and caresses it through the covers for the first four of his innings.

Gorgeous stroke from the Durham and England left-hander.
