Vasconcelos can't time a sweep from the fourth ball but steps back to make room to loft the fifth, slower and wider, over cow corner for a big six. Though it's put down in the crowd, sadly for that poor man.

The last ball foes for two and Vasconcelos has 80*.

Ricardo Vasconcelos moves to 70* with a mis-timed club down the ground for a single off a slower ball but Lewis McManus picks the second and clips away into the leg side for another one.

James Vince produces a fine stop at extra-cover to save at least one run if not three, before Vasconcelos pulls another single away.

They can't time Currie at all at the moment.

Liam Dawson is brought back to try to stem the flow of runs and find a breakthrough.

Ricardo Vasconcelos can't get the first away but pulls the second to deep square, but has to settle for a single.

Lewis McManus can't get bat on the next two balls, missing an almighty attempted sweep but slaps a single to long-on to get Vasconcelos back at the crease.

He hammers the final ball down the track and Dawson dives to surely save three runs, limiting Northants to a single.

Ricardo Vasconcelos moved into the 60s with that mighty maximum and adds a single off James Fuller to mid-wicket to reach 64* from 41 balls.

Lewis McManus rotates strike with another one before Vasconcelos clips a slower ball to deep square and is able to scamper two before drilling a single to cover to keep strike.

Chris Wood returns for his fourth and final over and Lewis McManus gets off strike with a first-ball single.

Ricardo Vasconcelos clips the next over mid-off to the boundary, straight out of the middle, using the pace, all timing.

Wood produces a very short slower ball to register a dot, though it looked well above head height. Especially for a man of Vasconcelos' stature.

He clips a single to deep square from the penultimate ball over the over before Lewis McManus wallops a huge flag six over midwicket to bring up the Steelbacks 100 with a six.

Wood finishes with figures of 0-43.

Ricardo Vasconcelos adds a single to his two boundaries but Lewis McManus can't get the next two balls away before pinching a single behind the stumps from the last.

89-2 at the mid-point. A good foundation build, especially by Ricardo Vasconcelos who is seeing it like a watermelon.

Ricardo Vasconcelos welcomes James Fuller back to the attack with an almighty hoik on the hook for a one bounce four and he swivels to pull the next ball away fine for his ninth boundary and a 33-ball half-century.

Sonny Baker is out there but picks it late and dives forward, missing the ball which bounces through for a boundary.

Dawson offers up another, finer, from the next ball and picks up a single a couple of balls later before Lewis McManus gets off the mark with a clip to deep mid-wicket for a couple.

That was a great review by Hampshire, no bat involved and ball tracking was in their favour.
