The race win predictor has Josh Kerr projected to finish 13th, based on world rankings in 2026. Hmm.
Kerr does not race often, instead prioritising a few big moments each year, and required an exceptional invitation to this event.
Away they go!

Having been to the first 2 nights of the Ultimate Athletics in Budapest, and the Diamond League in London the last 2 years, there’s a place for both. It’s been amazing in Budapest, and take note London Stadium, £4 for 2 soft drinks and a snack in Budapest!

Men's 1500m final
Image source, Getty ImagesDespite missing Jakob Ingebrigtsen, it is still a high-quality line-up in this final.
It will pit mile world record holder Josh Kerr against Olympic champion Cole Hocker, Olympic bronze medallist Yared Nuguse, reigning world champion Isaac Nader, Diamond League winner Cameron Myers, and 2022 world champion Jake Wightman.
A man for the big occasions, Kerr will go in as favourite based on his performances this season, which included his record-breaking run in London and Commonwealth Games gold in Glasgow.
But anything can happen in the middle-distances...
Men's high jump final
American JuVaughn Harrison chooses to skip 2.33m.
Gianmarco Tamberi's response?
The Italian flies over 2.35m - the highest jump by anyone in 2026.
He points to his arm, which has 'showtime baby' written on it. He's in the mood here!

Fans were excited to see Ingebrigtsen resume his rivalry with Great Britain's Josh Kerr, two years after they last went head-to-head.
The Norwegian took an impressive victory in the men's 5,000m final on Friday night.
But, having only returned to action last month following an 11-month injury lay-off that included Achilles surgery, he announced on Saturday that he did not want to risk competing again in Sunday's 1500m final.

He is the man for the big stage!
Gianmarco Tamberi goes clear over 2.33m at the first time of asking. A season-best performance to put him within reach of the title and maximum prize money.
The pressure is on now for American JuVaughn Harrison. Has he got a response?
Mixed 4x400m relay final

Brilliant run. That was a quick time from the Americans and Great Britain were not too far off the best time they have ever done.
That last leg from Charlotte Henrich, sensational. She didn't hang around and closed the gap in the home straight.
Mixed 4x400m relay final
Charlotte Henrich takes over for GB's final leg in fourth but quickly overtakes Germany, and then eats up the ground to move past the Netherlands into second!
Can she hold out? The USA are going to take the win...
It is second for GB! What a superb run by the 20-year-old Henrich.

Ben Jefferies hands over to Yemi Mary John, who bursts into third position at the break.
That's a terrific leg! The USA and the Netherlands lead the way, with GB following in third.
Men's high jump final
Gianmarco Tamberi, with his face half shaven as always for major championships, is joined only by American JuVaughn Harrison in clearing 2.30m in the men's high jump final!
What a finish that could be in that competition.
Meanwhile, Senegal's Saly Sarr leads the women's triple jump with a 15.06m-leap into the bright pink sandpit.

The next track final will be the mixed 4x400m relay, and GB's quartet has been confirmed.
Ben Jefferies, Yemi Mary John, Toby Harries and Charlotte Henrich will join forces in that one in a few minutes.

This is what Djamel Sedjati can do, he's often chased Arop or Wanyonyi, he often gets on the podium but he rarely wins and this time the Algerian found a way to win.
Men's 800m final
Drama!
Emmanuel Wanyonyi overcooks his surge for the line and it is Algeria's Djamel Sedjati who finds an extra gear on the home straight to get past the Kenyan in the closing stages.
What a run. Sedjati wins it in 1:41.91.
To give you an idea of how fast that was, Ireland's European champion Mark English runs a personal best to finish sixth in 1:42.78.

Olympic and world champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi is the headline act in the men's 800m final.
Can anyone deny him?
Georgia Hunter Bell
British track and field athlete
It has been really fun, the whole atmosphere has been really interesting.
I like there is no second and third medal and there is one ultimate winner.
You get crowned on the spot and that is something different and I like that, it feels fresh.
Men's high jump final
Italian showman Gianmarco Tamberi is leading the men's high jump final with first-time clearances over 2.22m and 2.26m.
He's one of three athletes over that current height.
The women's triple jump is also about to get under way, while the next event on the track is the men's 800m final.
We still have finals in the mixed 4x400m relay, men's 1500m, and both the men's and women's 200m to come - so don't go anywhere.

That was very impressive indeed. Likina Amebaw trusted herself to be able to keep that pace going for long enough to get a big gap.
Women's 5,000m final
A stunning victory for Likina Amebaw!
The Ethiopian runs solo to the title and $150,000 in 14 minutes 30.36 seconds.
It was a slow pace early on, but Amebaw did not relent after hitting the front.
