  11. Quenda completes Chelsea switch

    Chelsea claim to have signed "one of the brightest talents in European football" after confirming a deal for winger Geovany Quenda from Sporting Lisbon.

    The 19-year-old, who has played in a number of wide positions for Sporting and helped secure a league and couple double last season, has signed a deal until 2034.

    "It feels great to be here," the 19-year-old said. "Chelsea is a great team and I am excited to play here at Stamford Bridge. The club has shown faith in players like me and I am proud to be here, proud to be part of this club.

    "I am excited to work with my team-mates and the Manager, Xabi Alonso. I'm a very hard-working young person and I like to help my team. I want to be someone known for having the right mentality to help my team-mates and who does their best for the club to win trophies."

    The news comes as it was revealed the Blues are close to selling midfielder Andrey Santos to Manchester United.

  13. 'We don't want it hanging over us' - Aspinall on Baleba

    Former Brighton striker Warren Aspinall says "it's not fair" if the future of Carlos Baleba - who has previously been linked with Manchester United - becomes a distraction this summer.

    Speaking on BBC Radio Sussex's Albion Unlimited podcast, Aspinall said: "Is Baleba going to go? We don't want that hanging over us for the next three weeks.

    "If he's going, just get rid - or get your mind set and stay with us. It's not fair for the player. It's not fair for the fans. It's not fair for the football club.

    "They'll hang on for every penny but sometimes you have to think, we know a figure and we need to let him go."

    "His mind is probably not at Brighton. It's only Manchester United coming up now, isn't it? United are in for everybody, though."

  17. Brighton release new 1983 inspired home and away kits

    The new 2026-27 Brighton home and away kitsBrighton & Hove Albion

    Brighton have released their new 2026-27 home and away kits, inspired by the 1983 FA Cup final.

    The new home shirt is royal blue with a printed white pinstripe and contrasting white neckline while the new away shirt is flipped with a white base, printed royal blue pinstripes and contrasting royal blue neckline.

    Both shirts are paired with matching shorts and socks.

    The club say the two kits celebrate the "beautiful duality of our journey" while "blending our 1983 heritage with a bold vision for the future".
