  1. The Milburn Stand at St James' Park, Newcastle, shown from Barrack Road. It is a large, silver metal-clad structure with Newcastle United's crest on two of the protruding sections which run down the outside of the building. White metal beams which hold up the roof stick out at the top. Brickwork surrounds the bottom of the stand. A curved glass section - right of centre and rising from ground level to about halfway up the stand - reveals staircases and escalators inside. Barrack Road has four lanes. A bus and a car are travelling on it.

  2. A yellow ribbon is tied in a bow around a tree trunk, with more stretching down the street. Red brick walls and garden hedges can be seen in the background.

  3. Search and rescue team of four in the River Tyne in Wylam. Two are wearing red helmets, one has a yellow helmet and the fourth is in white. They are wearing red and yellow waterproof clothing and red lifesaver jackets. Each has a pole with which they appear to prodding into the water, which is a murky green. Beyond them and in the foreground are trees, shrubs and other vegetation.

Lanes are marked out with ropes and buoys and the approximately 14 swimmers in shot all appear to be doing the butterfly stroke. At the far end of the pool a number of people sit or stand in front of a white building which has doors and windows with dark frames. On the left hand side of the pool stands a slide, much like a family with a child might have in their garden. A silver ladder leads to the top but the blue slide winds towards the pool.
