The King's Lynn Stars went down to a heavy 57-37 defeat away at Newcastle in the first leg of their Premier Trophy semi-final match. The result would have been worse had it not been for the Stars' Australian rider Kevin Doolan, who top-scored for the side with 13 points. Doolan was also the side's only rider to record a race win. The Stars, who are defending Premier Trophy champions, face the second leg at the Norfolk Arena on Tuesday.
