Martin Foyle has led York to two Wembley appearances in two seasons
York City manager Martin Foyle was happy with the progress of his squad after Saturday's 1-0 home win over League Two Morecambe.
"There were some positive things. I was delighted," he told BBC Radio York.
"In the first half the front two [Michael Gash and Richard Brodie] caused a few problems and should have scored two or three goals."
Leeds teenager Liam Darville could be a loan target after a man-of-the-match display at right-back as a trialist.
"It was a lively display and a good chance to have a look at him, and if I need a loan player, he'll be top of my list," Foyle added.
"Duane Courtney is struggling with a knee injury. He should be training Monday with a view to playing Tuesday [at home to Scunthorpe]."
Striker Michael Rankine (achilles) took part in the warm-up before the Morecambe game but did not play, while defender Greg Young (heel) played the first 28 minutes of the game.
The only goal against Morecambe came from left-winger David McDermott, another trialist, who scored from a free-kick.
"He's been offered a contract, so we're just waiting to see what happens," Foyle said.
