Norwich City striker Chris Martin says his goal haul this season has not matched his expectations.
The 22-year-old, who scored 23 times in League One last season, has only netted six in 29 games this time around.
And while the Canaries' form has put them in the promotion hunt, Martin has failed to find the net since a 2-1 win at Derby in early December.
"I'd like to have scored a few more this season, I can't really deny that," he told BBC Radio Norfolk.
"But if I keep getting myself into positions hopefully they'll soon come along."
A combination of the woodwork, in-form goalkeepers and profligacy have prevented the City academy product from adding to his tally.
But that has not affected his side's aspirations of securing a top two finish, with Norwich unbeaten in their last six league outings.
"I blame myself. I've missed a couple of sitters, QPR springs to mind," he said.
"I've had some decent efforts as well, I've hit the woodwork quite a few times.
"But if we keep getting results and if I can contribute to that, perhaps not in terms of goals, but in build-up play then I'll be happy."
