Devon's short mat bowls team produced a solid performance to defeat Somerset 24-16 in the ESMBA Inter-County Championship at the weekend. The result keeps the team at the top of the South West group, 14 points ahead of Dorset and with a game in hand. The 'A' team also secured their first win of the season after beating second-placed Somerset, 26-14. The team remain fourth in the South West group five and are only 15 points adrift of Somerset.
