    Novak Djokovic let out a huge cry as he did his best to get his racquet behind another booming Jannik Sinner forehand, as the Italian began moving through the gears.

    The crowd could not believe Sinner missed that overhead - but the noises of disbelief are quickly replaced by cheers of appreciation as the world number one forces the breakthrough.

    Djokovic has had a couple of days [to recover]. I don't see it as a problem. It is a lot of tennis but he is just remarkable in how he is able to recover. We will see, it is warm and sunny out there.

    Both players started so strong on serve - but the stats show Novak Djokovic had been slightly more impressive, winning each of the first nine points behind his first serve before that unexpected double fault.

    When they got into an extended rally, Jannik Sinner demonstrated the incredible power which he can generate in his groundstrokes - but Djokovic used all his experience to shut down that first opportunity for the Italian.

    Just five games in, this is already very promising for all of us hopeful of a Centre Court classic. The arena is filling up quickly now as everyone returns after watching the final chapter of Arthur’s Fery-tale.

    It is the turn of fourth seed Gustavo Fernandez to complain about his racquet as he is broken yet again in the opening game, consolidated by Hewett.

    Fernandez finally manages to hold in the next game, after three deuces, ending a run of eight successive games won by Hewett.
