It's been great to watch this positive reaction from Dan Evans, who has produced some brilliant tennis after a slow start including a diving volley to make it 5-5.
However, Tristan Schoolkate clinches the first set 7-5.

Watson's compatriot Esther Adeshina defeated Moyuka Uchijima 6-1 3-6 7-5 to also reach the second round.
Australian teenager Emerson Jones impressed as she beat Czech Linda Fruhvirtova 6-2 6-1.
And second seed Ashlyn Krueger beat Gabriela Knutson of the Czech Republic 7-5 6-5.
