Botic van de Zandschulp has turned things around in the tie-break and he's rewarded with a first match point with a one-two punch off a wide serve.

Jan Choinski is on a roll from the baseline as he opens up a 4-1 lead, but Botic van de Zandschulp closes the gap with the help of an overhead winner and a poor Choinski miss. 4-4.

At 15-40, Jacob Fearnley comes into the net. Etcheverry lofts up a forehand lob and the back-tracking Brit puts his backhand overhead into the base of the net. I haven't seen the replay but I think that lob might have been drifting into the tramlines...

A superb first-serve return from Jan Choinski puts Botic van de Zandschulp on the backfoot and he can't recover the point.

He gets the next one before forces another miss from the Dutchman with a series of blazing backhands.

The ball pops up nicely for Jan Choinski off the net and he takes control of the rally, which eventually comes to an end when Botic van de Zandschulp shanks a forehand wide.

But in the end, he's a little unlucky to be broken, with an unhelpful net cord pinging his forehand into the tramlines.

A short while ago, Mark Woodforde called for Jacob Fearnley to mix things up a bit. Granted, it wasn't his choice to come into the net on this occasion but he was swiftly up to the drop shot and then buried a volley winner. 15-30.

Two points later, he actively attacks the net and converts the second of his two smashes to save a break point.

Harriet Dart has already made it into the second round and will play tomorrow, but she's taken some time to come and watch her fellow Brit Jan Choinski as he also sees his service game out from 30-30.

A break now would be nice for the 30-year-old.

Etcheverry's numbers were certainly a little brighter than Fearnley's in the serving department. Winning a bit more behind the first serve when they landed, and striking enough winners from the back of the court as well.

Maybe there is hope for Jan Choinski! His first love hold of the match.

It's not been a high quality first set out on court 12 but Tomas Martin Etcheverry won't care. The Argentine clenches his fist and shouts as he watches Jacob Fearnley's backhand flump into the net.

He takes the first set 6-3, breaking the Brit's serve three times.

Both players should be concerned by the unforced error count - 15 for Etcheverry, 17 for Fearnley - but the latter should be particularly worried by his serve. Five double faults in the set, and more than once his serve failed him on a big point.
