Looked a bit of a late hit by Alex Mann on Zebre scrum-half Thomas Dominguez to the naked eye but the officials are happy.

Play goes on after Cardiff steal the ball and Johan Mulder puts Bowen over for his second after some nice handling.

    Jarrod Evans converts.

Yaqeen Ahmed has just kicked Stormers level with a pretty routine penalty.

It's pretty windy out there which seems to be causing a lot of the handling issues we are seeing.

    Cardiff 33-8 Zebre

Zebre hammer away at the line, win a scrum and are then pinged for an early engagement.

Cardiff boot clear from the free-kick.

    Cardiff 33-8 Zebre

First sight of Zebre on the attack for a while and it features a huge hand-off on Daf Hughes that we heard here in the stand.

Cardiff infringe and Zebre go to the corner.

An unconventional assist for Callum Sheedy, who grubbers a loose ball out to the wing and Tom Bowen finishes off.

Smart finish by the livewire back, stepping off his left, but that was a little too easy from the Zebre point of view.

    Sheedy adds the touchline extras.

Ben Thomas gets us back under way here in Cardiff.

How many more tries can they add?

There are five URC fixtures tomorrow with the pick of the bunch, in this neck of the woods anyway, being a second Welsh derby of the season.

Dragons host Scarlets (15:00 BST) at Rodney Parade and will hope to repeat last season’s comprehensive victory.

Ospreys get the action under way when they take on Lions (12:45 BST) in the altitude of Johannesburg and a repeat of last week’s effort at Sharks, when they left with a bonus point, would be a success.

Glasgow entertain Ulster and Sharks host Leinster (both 17:30 BST) and there is a cracker to finish the weekend when Munster welcome Bulls to Thomond Park (19:45 BST).

Cardiff captain Josh McNally said to S4C:

"We came out wanting to play exciting rugby back at the Arms Park.

"With the speed we are playing at, we can beat a lot of teams.

"We had a little patch where we dropped off in that first 20 minutes but we came straight back and put our stamp on the game."

  9. Tonight's other gamepublished at 20:40 BST 2 October

    HT: Cardiff 26-8 Zebre

The third URC clash of the night comes from Italy, and it is Connacht currently leading hosts Benetton 17-12.

Five tries for the crowd to enjoy so far, and I dare say, a lot more entertainment than what fans are seeing in Edinburgh.

    Edinburgh 3-0 Stormers

    There's the half-time whistle.

    It's not been a classic!

  11. Half-timepublished at 20:36 BST 2 October

    Cardiff 26-8 Zebre

Zebre started really well and actually dominated early possession.

But the half as belonged to Cardiff. A bonus point sealed and Corniel van Zyl will want his side to pile on the points after the break.

Really not much to report from Hive Stadium.

The first half has had a lot of dropped balls, a lot of referee's whistles and barely any action in either 22.

Probably the most notable incident was Matt Currie's fizzing spin pass which was intended for the hands of Magnus Bradbury but instead struck the touch judge in a very unfortunate part of the body!

    Cardiff 26-8 Zebre

Cardiff are easing to five points here at the Arms Park but it's in the balance in Scotland and Italy approaching half-time.

Edinburgh still hold a 3-0 lead against Stormers and Benetton have hit the front 12-10 against Connacht.

    Job done.

Cardiff are over down the left after Ben Thomas fizzed a pass to flanker Mann on the wing.

A mention for Daf Hughes for good work in the build-up with a lovely dummy.

Callum Sheedy converts from out wide.

    Cardiff 19-8 Zebre

Cardiff a bit guilty of over-playing in their own half but Ben Thomas mops up excellently, allowing Johan Mulder to kick towards halfway.

The hosts will hope to get their four-try bonus wrapped up before the break.

Taine Basham carries the ball for CardiffImage source, Huw Evans Picture Agency

Wales defence coach Peter Murchie is one of the spectators at the Arms Park this evening and was having a good chat with Cardiff boss Corniel van Zyl before kick-off.

There will be a sizeable Cardiff contingent in the squad for the Nations Championship but could anyone force their way in?

Back-row forward Taine Basham perhaps - although he plays in an area of strength - and centre Steffan Emanuel, who is on the bench, is certainly one for the future.

    Yes, they can.

Number eight Basham carries hard from the scrum and does well to ground the ball under pressure.

  18. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Cardiff 12-8 Zebre

That's a blow for Zebre, who defend well in their 22 to win a turnover five metres out... only to then knock on.

Great initial work by Samuele Locatelli, but can Cardiff make them pay for that handling error?

  19. try

    Francisco Minervino

    Good response from the visitors.

Zebre win a scrum penalty and kick to the corner to get a 12-man drive going over the line.

Hooker Francisco Minervino the man to dot down.

Tommaso Allan pulls the touchline conversion.

    Scrum? No.

    Driving line-out? No.

    Tap? Yes.

Tight-head Javan Sebastian powers over from close range after hooker Daf Hughes' tap.

    Sheedy converts.
