Roche did a great job there to clean that play up under all sorts of pressure.

Samoa, of course, will not take this lying down.
They advance deep into English territory, again spiralling a high kick onto Evie Cousins.
But the ball bounces off a Samoan player into the waiting arms of well placed Georgia Roche.

A second clean line-break from the English. We didn't see that in the first half. They're looking very dangerous all of a sudden.

That will give Evie Cousins a lot of confidence to catch the high ball. Momentum and confidence go hand in hand. When you're scoring tries, you feel like you can catch the ball.
Beautiful work from Hollie-Mae Dodd. The spine players stand up. Fran Goldthorp with that last pass for the winger to find some space.

England have 25 minutes to score 11 unopposed points.
Game on.

A great try over in the left corner.
That goes back to Dodd - what about that break? Great footwork to get in the clear, for a back-rower, the speed she showed.
England are maybe a little lucky to get over the line there but watching the replay, the referee got it 100% right.
Evie Cousins (41 mins)
Hope!
England finally get a good attack going through the hands, out to the left where Evie Cousins is tackled - but the tackle is not complete, allowing Cousins to get back up under no pressure and score.
Then Izzy Rowe converts right from the wing, brilliantly.
England are back in the game.

Jada called the next try would be coming down the left side. She's 100% right.
A really positive start for the English but they give away a penalty, which they didn't need to do, and lose the field position.
The petrol light is starting to come on for some of these England players.

The promising thing for Samoa at the moment is their ability to shift the ball and their wingers are scoring points.
Mercedez Taulelei-Siala (38 mins)
Meet the second half, same as the first half.
A rebound off an England player means six again for the Samoans, and they build a huge overload out to the left for Mercedez Taulelei-Siala - who has been excellent in defence - to score out by the sidelines.
Pauline Piliae-Rasabale's kick is short, she's nil for four from the tee. But Samoa are in total control.

Great start by the England team. You can tell they've got the wind behind them and some field position for one of the first times in the game.

England made good inroads off the kick-off, but then concede a penalty in the Samoan half.
Back on the defensive.

Samoa get us back under way.
England do have the wind in their favour for this second half.

Well, you guys don't seem to believe in England. But do they believe in themselves?
The players are back on the field.

Do you think England can turn this around in the second half?
Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no.

I think England are doing well to stay in this. There's so much NRLW strike power in this Samoa side.
But England's last tackle options have been terrible. Kicking the ball out on the full hurts you badly.
But do it back to them! Pauline Piliae-Rasabale has had so much time on the last tackle and she's their only last tackle option. England are not having the kick pressure that Samoa are having.
It's simple errors that are hurting them.

England's Evie Cousins was in tears as she and her team mates left the field at half time.
Cousins dropped a high kick right before the break to almost allow Samoa in, and it was down her left wing where England have conceded all three tries.
It has been a tough first half for the 21-year-old, who was encouraged by her team mates after her mistake and as they left the field for half time.

Former Bradford Bulls head coach on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra
It's not the wind. It's great kick pressure from Samoa.
When you give field position to Samoa, quite often there's consequences.
The English team has played really well. There's been a lot to like about their game. It's just key moments of the game, particularly last plays, that's costing them.
