  1. Arthur wants 'best version' of Rhinos for showdownpublished at 19:49 BST 25 September

    Leeds v Warrington (20:00 BST)

Leeds Rhinos' second placed finish in the table is the bet they have done for almost a decade.

Up until the penultimate week they were neck-and-neck with Wigan Warriors in the battle for the League Leaders' Shield.

BUT, back-to-back losses to complete the regular season campaign - which took their late season run to three defeats in five - has them somewhat liming into the play-offs.

Rhinos head coach Brad Arthur, however has said he is not worried about his side's inconsistent run of form.

"[We have to be] the best version of us. We've seen that plenty of times this year and we've played a lot of good footy," he told BBC Radio Leeds.

"Our past couple of weeks haven't been ideal but it doesn't really count for much right now. It doesn't mean anything. All those past two games showed was a couple of things that we need to tidy up which we've done during the week around execution.

"But like the first 27 rounds, all that's done is put us in a position where we're 80 minutes away from Old Trafford so that's all we got to focus on."

  3. Team news - Leeds without Sivo, Wolves XIII unchangedpublished at 19:41 BST 25 September

    Leeds v Warrington (20:00 BST)

Leeds Rhinos have suffered a huge blow with Maika Sivo, Super League's leading try scorer this season, ruled out injured tonight.

Sivo scored a hat-trick of tries in both of Leeds' victories over Warrington this season.

And it is not the only blow that the hosts have had to absorb, with 20-year-old Fergie McCormack coming in at full-back to make just his fourth career start for Leeds after captain Ash Handley was ruled out with a back injury.

Handley himself was only playing there to deputise for Lachie Millar who had his season ended early by a torn hamstring.

Forward James McDonnell comes straight back into the Leeds’ starting XIII after recovering from a pectoral injury.

Leeds Rhinos: McCormack, Hall, Hankinson, Newman, Lumb, Croft, Connor, Oledzki, O'Connor, Lodge, Watkins, McDonnell, Palasia.

    Interchanges: Jenkins, Holroyd, Smith, Cassell.

Sam Burgess sticks with the starting side he put out in Warrington Wolves' play-off eliminator victory against Hull KR last week.

There, however, is one change on the bench with hooker Sam Powell coming into to replace Leon Hayes, who drops out to become the 18th man tonight.

Warrington Wolves: Thewlis, Hopoate, Lindop, King, Ashton, Williams, Irwin, Byrne, Walker, Harrison, Bentley, Stone, Currie.

    Interchanges: Yates, Powell, Philbin, Tanginoa.

  4. Warrington end Hull KR's reign to reach semispublished at 19:37 BST 25 September

    Leeds v Warrington (20:00 BST)

Warrington Wolves dethroned Hull KR in the elimination final a week ago to get themselves into the last four.

Matty Ashton scored a hat-trick of tries as they ran out 35-12 winners.

  5. Leeds back on the semi-final stagepublished at 19:33 BST 25 September

    Leeds v Warrington (20:00 BST)

Leeds Rhinos finished second in the table to land a place in the Super League semi-finals for the first time since 2022.

They went on to lose the Grand Final to St Helens that season and have never made it this close to getting back to the decider since.

They got as far as the elimination final last term, but St Helens snatched victory from them in sensational fashion.

Head coach Brad Arthur described it as a “shattering” loss at the time and stated that “it’s going to have to make us better”.

Having been the competition pacesetters for much of the season, before three defeats in their final five games dropped them to second, the tough lesson learned 12 months ago at this very same Headingley ground seemed to have done the trick.

Victory tonight will surely consign that miserable play-off moment to the annals of history.
