It wasn't to be for Scotland, who are still looking for their first Six Nations win of this tournament.

Despite a fantastic second-half, they leave Scotstoun with only one try to show for all their hard work.

France were clinical, with Player of the Match Jessy Tremouliere and scrum-half Laure Sansus wrapping up the game with their first-half performance alone.

Up next for Brian Easson is a trip to Parma to take on Italy - a side who are also yet to win in the Six Nations, shipping 113 points in the process.

Scotland head coach Brian Easson also spoke to BBC Scotland:

"It was a disappointing first half, we didn't fire a shot and it wasn't what we're all about.

"The set piece got a little better second half, but we can't keep saying that. We can't give teams that start to then only put pressure on in the second-half.

[On Chloe Rollie's try] "It was a team score, they squeezed France second-half but that's what was disappointing in the first-half, we didn't put them under any pressure."

Speaking to BBC Scotland, Scotland captain Rachel Malcolm said: "We will dwell on that, to be honest. We've said it's not good enough for us to be losing.

"We showed in the second half that we could have won that game if we'd showed up from the first minute. I can't fault our work rate in the second half and it shows we can compete with the best.

You would have been forgiven for thinking Scotland were the team with two wins from two after that second-half performance.

They attacked relentlessly, spurred on by the Scotstoun crowd who cheered every line break as if it were a try. They were also helped by the introduction of Sarah Law, who started to pull the strings in the Scottish midfield.

Unfortunately, the damage was done in the first half - particularly in the last five minutes in which they shipped two tries.

Yet again, Bryan Easson will take a lot of positives from this performance but Scotland need to turn those efforts into results. Italy up next week in Parma.

Somehow, France haven't scored. A great blindside dart from Alexandra Chambon sees France get into Scotland's half for the first time in forever.

France end up with a penalty, they end up taking it quickly and they MUST score, but somehow Rhona Lloyd holds up Emilie Boulard on the line. Unbelievable defence from the winger.

Scotland now empty the bench, with all their replacements on the pitch.

Scotland trying to vary the attack as Mattinson chips over the top, resulting in Rhona Lloyd wiping out Emilie Boulard in the air. No card for the winger.

Again though, it came from a good Scottish attack with very good hands shown out wide. Scotland will be desperate to win this second-half at least.

Another penalty for Scotland as France go off their feet. And there's a card coming too! Julie Annery is off for the next ten minutes as France's high penalty count finally goes against them.

Scotland give away the throw but somehow win it back in the middle of the maul. Can Scotland make the extra player count?

No, France win it back on their line but they are driven back by Scotland and it will be a drop out from behind the French goal line.

There is that maul that Emma Wassell spoke about at half time. Scotland really knocking at the door now, but at the vital moment Megan Gaffney knocks on.

Scotland just suffering from inaccuracy in vital positions. However, the Scots had an advantage and they will go the corner again.

Scotland come forward again as Chloe Rollie bursts down the outside. Again, they get into France's 22m but end up conceding the penalty at the breakdown.

Scotland have dominated this second-half but so far, they have nothing to show for it.

A few replacements for Scotland now as well - and off goes Jade Konkel, who looks like she's carrying a knock. A big physical loss for Scotland in both attack and defence.

Rachel McLachlan is on in her place, and Caity Mattinson is also on at scrum-half.

Some superb attacking phases from Scotland! Christine Belisle, Louise McMillan, Sarah Bonar all with big carries - but it ends in a France penalty.

There's already been a clear shift in Scotland's play since they brought on Sarah Law and re-jigged the back-line.

Jade Konkel's taken a sore one as both sides turn the ball over repeatedly. Hopefully for Scotland, she's able to continue.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Emma Orr is off on her second cap and replaced by Sarah Law - making her 50th appearance for Scotland.

A pause in proceedings as Louise McMillan is penalised for landing on Chloe Jacquet's head with her knee when chasing her own kick.

In fact, she could be in trouble... nope, just a penalty. Bryan Easson breathes a sigh of relief.

Almost the perfect start for Scotland!

Sarah Bonar closes down France's clearing kick and it bounces up near loosehead prop Leah Bartlett, but she just couldn't gather on France's five-metre line. A big opportunity missed for Scotland.

A bruising first half for Scotland.

They've been given plenty of opportunities to get into this game through France's ill-discipline in defence - but the Scots have had no answer for the French attack.

Laure Sansus and Jessy Tremouliere are dominating the midfield, their kicking game is putting the visitors into good territory, and the French defence aren't given Scotland a second to breathe in attack.

It's hard to see how the Scots can overturn this scoreline.
