The upturn in Norwich's fortunes can be attributed to Phillipe Clement instilling discipline in the dressing room, says EFL pundit Lyle Taylor.

In the latest edition of the BBC's 72+ EFL podcast Taylor said the Belgian's strength has got the players to buy in and that's the reason why they are climbing the table after a nightmare start to the Championship campaign under former boss Liam Manning.

"The most important thing in the dressing room is instilling discipline," Taylor said.

"If you've got a manager who leads from the very front and is strong about what he wants to do and how he wants to do it, it doesn't leave room for any flip-flopping from players.

"You either put up and shut up or you see yourself out the door."

He added: "The best thing they could have possibly had is a manager coming in and reading the riot act. It makes it very clear for everyone.

"What he's doing is obviously working and he obviously has enough of the players onside so what he's doing can work.

"It seems those players are willing, it just maybe takes a different voice they haven't heard before."

Celtic are set to rival Norwich City in a move for 25-year-old Bodo/Glimt forward Kasper Hogh, who could leave the Norwegian side after Wednesday's Champions League game against Atletico Madrid. (Anthony Joseph, Sky Sports), external

Norwich City boss Philippe Clement hopes their impressive victory over Coventry City and second-half performance can lead to something bigger for the Canaries.

The hosts were the better side against the league leaders at Carrow Road but went in at half-time 1-0 down after Romain Esse's opener.

However, Clement's side recovered to equalise just 34 seconds after the restart through Anis Ben Slimane before Ali Ahmed claimed a fine winner.

"I want more. I hope this creates, for everybody in the building, more hunger and more belief," he told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"I was a bit disappointed at half time, and told them, because I saw a few players at 1-0 going a little bit down - less available on the ball, less aggressive playing forwards.

"Their reaction was their after those five minutes and that's something we have to keep. We did a lot of things well in the first half and could have scored but missed the last pass or the decisive run but we were really close.

"I have the ambition to go to the Premier League with this club and the owners and sporting director have that.

"When I came in and asked the players some questions they all put in the questionnaire that they want to go to the Premier League so we're going to work hard for that."

A new initiative highlighting the work of football club charities has been launched by the English Football League (EFL).

'Scan to Smile' will be rolled out in stadiums across the EFL from Friday until the end of January, with supporters invited to scan QR codes on posters displayed around grounds.

Each scan will unlock a short, uplifting story from a person whose life has been positively impacted by the support of their local club charity.

The subjects tackled include mental health support, combating loneliness, improving physical wellbeing, employability and confidence.

The EFL said it hoped the initiative would use "the reach and influence of football to offer fans a moment of positivity on matchday".

Trevor Birch, chief executive at the EFL, said: "Behind every club are people whose lives have been positively changed through the work and dedication of their local EFL club charity.

"This initiative gives supporters the chance to see that impact first-hand and reminds us that football truly is a force for good."

Both Norwich and Coventry City will try to create bigger gaps on the Championship table when they meet at Carrow Road on Monday (20:00 GMT).

For the Canaries, the aim will be to continue their winning run and get further away from the relegation zone. The side have won both their past two league matches to see themselves two points above 22nd placed Blackburn Rovers.

While Coventry are currently six points clear at the top and will want to ensure they stay out of striking distance - as well as dismiss a pesky winless away run.

• Norwich City are unbeaten across their last 11 Championship games against Coventry City (W7 D4), since a 2-1 home loss in February 2009.

• Coventry City have lost each of their last three away league games against Norwich City and will be looking to avoid losing four in succession for the first time.

• This season in the Championship, Norwich have lost nine of their 13 home games (W3 D1) – the second-most behind only bottom side Sheffield Wednesday (11). The Owls (7) are also the only side to net fewer home goals than the Canaries (12).

• Having won five of their six away league games in October and November (L1), Coventry are winless in their five on the road since the start of December (D3 L2).

• Jovon Makama has scored nine goals in his last nine starts for Norwich in all competitions, with seven of these coming in five games at Carrow Road.

Norwich City have competition for the signature of 25-year-old striker Kasper Hogh, who scored a double in Bodo/Glimt's Champions League win over Manchester City.

Norwich City are working on a deal to sign teenage defender Harry Amass on loan from Manchester United.

The 18-year-old left-back spent the first half of the season on loan with the Championship's bottom side Sheffield Wednesday before returning to United earlier this month.

But it is understood Amass, who made 21 appearances for the Owls, will not be going back to Hillsborough.

Stoke City and Watford were reportedly also interested in taking the England Under-19 international on loan but a move to the Canaries is now believed to be close.

Amass won consecutive player of the month awards for November and December at Wednesday and scored one goal.

Norwich City have a fresh energy under boss Philippe Clement, according to midfielder Anis Ben Slimane.

The Canaries moved out of the Championship's relegation zone with a 5-0 win at West Brom on Tuesday night with Slimane scoring his second goal in two games.

"It's amazing, five goals away and a clean sheet, you can't get better than that," the 24-year-old told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"After the tough start we had to the season with the results not going with us they are starting to turn around now.

"Since the new manager and new staff [came in] you can see it's a team with a fresh energy and the whole group work hard, not just the 11 players but those who come on and those who don't play."

Slimane had injury issues at the start of the season and also struggled to get in the squad under previous head coach Liam Manning and the Tunisian is grateful for the chance handed to him by Clement.

"He saw the potential of the group and the whole squad. For me personally he gave me a chance and that's something I appreciate and don't want to let him down," he added.

"Several players have the same feeling as me and that always gives something to the group."

Norwich will try to make it three successive league wins for the first time this season when they host the leaders Coventry on Monday, 26 January (20:00 GMT).

All English Football League games across a four-day period in February will begin one minute late to raise awareness for the Every Minute Matters campaign.

The initiative will be in place for 36 matches across the Championship, League One and League Two between 5 and 9 February.

EFL sponsor Sky Bet and the British Heart Foundation (BHF) have been working together since May 2024 to highlight the importance of speed when it comes to performing live-saving CPR.

Later kick-off times will serve as "a stark reminder that every minute matters", the EFL said.

Bristol Rovers defender Tom Lockyer collapsed while playing for Luton Town eight minutes into the Championship play-off final against Coventry in May 2023.

Lockyer then suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch seven months later during a Premier League game at Bournemouth.

"What happened to me can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time," said Lockyer, who is now a BHF ambassador.

"Every year, more than 40,000 people in the UK suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and most of them never make it home.

"I'm here today because of the transformative power of CPR as every minute matters when it comes to saving a life.

"This February, we want everyone to get behind this life-saving initiative, learn the skills and be ready to step in because your actions could give someone else the chance I was given."

Throughout February, the Every Minute Matters campaign will call on fans to learn CPR using the BHF's online RevivR, external tool.

"Each minute without CPR reduces a person's chance of survival, so we're urging fans to learn the skills now, before you ever need them," said Dr Charmaine Griffiths, chief executive of the BHF.

EFL chief executive officer Trevor Birch added: "The one minute kick-off adjustment is a simple, powerful reminder that swift CPR can be the difference between life and death."

Norwich City's 5-0 win at West Brom on Tuesday night is a reward for the hard work they are doing, says head coach Philippe Clement.

The victory at The Hawthorns was the Canaries second successive away win after a 2-1 win at Wrexham on Saturday.

"I'm really happy for the fans and happy for the players as well, that they get their reward for all the hard work that they have been doing, that they are doing and they need to keep on doing, let's be clear about that," Clement told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"I'm really pleased for the clean sheet, scoring five goals, five different goalscorers. A few weeks ago, we talked about that, that we were too dependent on our strikers to score the goals and that we had to attack more with the whole team.

Norwich are now out of the Championship relegation zone and next host leaders Coventry on Monday, 26 January (20:00 GMT).

"Also, two tough away games, winning, that's the first time this season - I think even two games in a row winning for the first time, so a lot of positives and also to see all the fans so happy and singing and all the smiling faces – that gives me a lot of energy," added Clement.

Norwich City are interested in signing Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh this month.

The 25-year-old has appeared in all six of the Norwegian club's Champions League group-stage fixtures this season and is expected to feature against Manchester City on Tuesday.

He ended last season as the joint top goalscorer in the Europa League, along with Olympiacos' Ayoub El Kaabi and Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes. His team were knocked out in the semi-finals by eventual winners Tottenham.

Hogh has been touted as a potential replacement for Josh Sargent amid doubt over the American's future at Carrow Road.

A fee of just over £6m is thought to be enough to acquire Hogh and BBC Norfolk understands , externalthe former Denmark Under-21 international wants to join the Championship club.
