    New Huddersfield Town head coach Martin Drury

    Huddersfield Town have strengthened their backroom staff behind head coach Martin Drury with the additions of Dale Tonge, Anton McElhone and Jon Worthington.

    Tonge joins as assistant head coach and will work alongside fellow assistant Jon Stead.

    He helped Barnsley win promotion to the Championship during his time at Oakwell as assistant manager and first-team coach, and has also worked at Hearts, Peterborough United and Rotherham United.

    McElhone is appointed head of medical and performance and brings with him 20 years' experience at the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Celtic, Besiktas and Bradford City.

    Worthington will work with the first team in a newly created role of director of player development, while maintaining his responsibilities as academy director.

    Drury told the Huddersfield website:, external "I've crossed paths with Dale, Anton and Jon to different degrees during my career, and their reputations as excellent practitioners are well known across football."
