Matt: So happy for Tyler Dibling and Charly Alcaraz, stepping out of the shadows and showing their quality to get us past a stubborn Wolves. Moyes has no choice and has to give them minutes now!
Greg: Patchy to say the least. Nice to see Dibling take his chance but the last 10 minutes were disgraceful. Strolling around like the game was won. Do that against Ipswich and they will beat us. Still, a win's a win and another home draw to look forward to.
Steve: Clean sheet and into the next round, it's a win-win for me. We need a good cup run too.
Jeff: We didn't create many chances, let alone convert them, but I am very pleased that Moyes did not field a B-squad. That stands out for me. Let's take this cup serious and let us dream of silverware.
Bill: Scraped through. We need a forward who can take the opportunities that are presented to them. Leave Barry out, he is a nightmare and is keeping out a player that deserves to be selected and work for the team.
Ross: We did just enough. Just. And I'm afraid it's time to make a big decision over Barry. He can't hold the ball up, and he's not finishing golden chances. We improved after he left the pitch and I don't think he's trusted by the rest of the team.
Les: Great result ground out against a good team. Good to see some players getting more game time and happy for Charly to score. Still unbeaten this season, let's keep it up!
'We want to go on and win it' - Garner on cup progressionpublished at 09:39 BST 17 September
09:39 BST 17 September
Everton midfielder James Garner spoke to BBC Radio Merseyside after helping his side reach the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a 1-0 win over Wolves.
Garner said: "We've spoken about it a lot, we want to have a good cup run this year, we don't want to just participate, we want to go on and win it. It's a step in the right direction."
On whether Everton feel like they can really target both cup competitions this year, he added: "I don't see why not. This club hasn't won a trophy in a long time so it'd be good to try to get one this season. We'll see what we can do!"

Everton assistant manager Alan Irvine said he is "delighted" for Tyler Dibling and Charly Alcaraz, after the pair who have taken part in limited minutes so far this season combined for the goal in Wednesday's Carabao Cup victory against Wolves.
After the Toffees progressed in the Carabao Cup, Irvine told BBC Radio Merseyside: "Tyler has come back looking like he belongs here, which is great. It looked difficult for him being so far away from home and things like that as a young lad last season but he's come back a different lad this season. His training has been very good.
"Charly trains well every day so we didn't have any fear that we would not have a player who was up to speed, even though he hasn't played that many minutes since pre-season.
"Pre-season was good for all the boys because everybody got a lot of minutes - again, a benefit of having a small squad. I'm delighted for the two of them.
"I said to Tyler before the game 'you're getting your chance, you've waited a long time, make sure that you perform well and then you give the manager a big decision to make about whether you're in the team the next time' so that was great."

Garner crucial for Everton's European pushpublished at 17:05 BST 16 September

James Garner's consistent displays last season earned him a first England cap in a friendly against Uruguay in March.
He produced a man-of-the-match performance, topping the game for tackles and chances created.
After the match, England manager Thomas Tuchel compared him with Uruguay and Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde.
"He's our mini Valverde," said Tuchel. "He played very, very good. I was quite sure that he will play good because he has this natural confidence and he's just very physical. He won a lot of balls."
Garner missed out on a place in England's World Cup squad, but those physical attributes could result in more caps in the near future.
He covered the most ground of any Premier League player last season - and 6km more than England midfielder Elliot Anderson - while also topping the overall rankings for tackles and interceptions.
Garner signed a new Everton deal in January, keeping him at the club until 2030, but that did not stop a £65m bid from Chelsea on deadline day this summer, which was rejected by Everton - an important decision given that Garner's versatility is likely to be crucial to a threadbare squad this season.
Everton can currently call on only 17 fit senior outfield players, with Christian Norgaard and Merlin Rohl sidelined because of injury, meaning gaps may have to be plugged throughout the campaign.
Garner has played at right-back and left-back for Everton in addition to his usual central midfield role.
He also played at right-back when England Under-21s won the European Championship three years ago, while David Moyes has said he can operate as a number eight or six – a valuable commodity after losing 254 Premier League appearances in the guise of departed midfielder Idrissa Gueye this summer.
If Everton are to push back towards European football this season, Garner may well be their most important asset.

James Garner joined Everton for an initial fee of only £9m from Manchester United in 2022, having spent the previous season on loan helping Nottingham Forest get promoted to the Premier League.
The academy graduate did not make a Premier League start for United.
After taking two seasons to settle at Everton under Frank Lampard and then Sean Dyche amid a backdrop of financial problems and points deductions, the 2025-26 campaign proved to be a watershed moment.
Garner played all but six minutes of Everton's Premier League campaign to spearhead a European push that lasted for much of the season.
In December, Everton travelled to Forest with a depleted squad and won 2-0 to move within four points of the top four.
Garner scored Everton's opening goal in a commanding display that underlined his development.
Following that win, manager David Moyes said: "When I came in, I still saw a bit of a boy and I think I now see someone who's turning into a really good leader as well, beginning to take a bit more responsibility and grow up and begin to start to act like a real midfield player."
The data backs up Garner's growing maturity.
He ranked top for a host of metrics for Everton last season, in terms of creativity and physicality, making the most successful passes, tackles and interceptions, but also providing the most assists and engineering the most chances.
Perhaps most impressively, he stepped up in the absence of key winger Jack Grealish - four of Garner's seven assists came after Grealish's season was ended by injury in January.
"He's been fantastic since I came in," said Moyes. "I didn't realise probably how good he was. He's been so good."

Moyes wants to see 'Everton DNA'published at 19:03 BST 15 September

David Moyes wants to see "Everton DNA" as the Toffees look to battle through this period where they lack numbers in forward areas.
The Toffees were left disappointed after failing to land a new striker with the club not executing on attempts to bring in Monaco forward Folarin Balogun and Manchester United's Joshua Zirkzee.
However, Moyes believes their foundations in defence see them well-placed to muster results at the moment, with their next key focus being Wednesday's Carabao Cup tie against Wolves at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
"There's a wee bit of Everton DNA where we have to find ways," Moyes said after the goalless draw against Tottenham.
"We have a terrific goalkeeper, a back four who does well. We know exactly where we're short and what we could do better at and what we'd like to do better at.
"But when we were forced into it by Tottenham, I thought we did a really good job of being resilient, hard to score against.
"Our goalie didn't have too many saves to make with a few blocks, few corners we had to defend, but overall I thought we'd done a pretty good job."
'Already a fan favourite' - your views on Georgepublished at 07:44 BST 15 September

We asked for your views on Tyrique George and how impressed you have been with his start to the season.
Here are some of your comments:
Stuart: Tyrique is likely to be someone who benefits from our small squad - he'll get more game time than he may have ordinarily, particularly as he can play across the full frontline. Pace in abundance and directness - something we haven't had in ages. A great signing and already looking a steal in this inflated market.
John: He's a real gem and already a fan favourite. The type of player who gets you off your seat.
Dennis: George is a great signing and it was a great piece of work getting him in. I would like to see him playing down the right like he did against Manchester United when Jack Grealish came on. I feel it gives us a good balance across the team. Either way, he is a star signing.
Tommo: George has hit the ground running for us and I'm pleased David Moyes is giving him plenty of chances. Total contrast to Tyler Dibling, however.
Gary: A great talent. He has to start every game as he's our only genuine goal threat. He looks full of confidence and will hopefully continue to shoot on sight. He could become the fans favourite as he's a very exciting player.

Who would step into Everton's number nine role if Thierno Barry gets injured between now and the January transfer window?
That's the question BBC Radio Merseyside's Phil Munns and Giulia Bould have been debating after the striker had the Toffees' best chances in the goalless draw at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
"You're going to disagree with me but I'm going to go with Tyrique George," said Bould. "I don't think there is a good answer and I'm glad I'm not David Moyes!
"I just wonder if he could be the striking answer."
In the latest edition of Toffees Unwrapped, the pair also discuss Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's newspaper interview and look back on the goalless draw with Tottenham.
Munns said: "I've seen some fans question whether it is a pop at the fans and whether Dewsbury-Hall is out of line here, but I don't think he is.
"I don't think European football should be beyond the ambition. The squad has been reduced, but I don't think we should be thinking that staying up is now a good achievement for this season. This squad is good enough to aim high."
'George is improving week on week' - how well has the winger started?published at 13:34 BST 14 September

Everton fan Sarah Halpin believes Tyrique George is "improving week on week" after another solid display against Tottenham on Saturday.
The former Chelsea winger has impressed this season, starting every game in the Toffees' unbeaten Premier League run and scoring his first goal of the campaign against Manchester United earlier this month.
"George just looks like a player who is improving week on week," Halpin said. "The way he has started the season, he just looks like a real, real talent."
How impressed have you been by the youngster's performances? Do you think he could grow into being the talisman for this Everton attack?
Sally: We had better build-up play and possession, especially in the first half, but we didn't buy a striker or attacking players with good scoring stats, so how are we going to score? Our defence wasn't the problem last year, it was lack of goals, so start there for the overhaul.
DJ: It looks like the players are afraid, overly cautious and not willing to take chances/make mistakes, which is stifling the play. The new signings are especially timid when in attacking territory. There seems to be enough quality, but nowhere near enough conviction. A little bit of freedom is what this team needs...
Steve: I am just frustrated by the money spent and lack of football knowledge brought in. I mean, these are professionals, not school kids, and they know how to play football - but they truly look so bereft of ideas, especially when games require it. Even the fans are seeing the errors in decision-making. I have a son just getting into football but do I really put him through the emotional rollercoaster of being a Spurs fan?
Simon: This was another decent performance. Had Van Hecke taken his chance in minute six the outcome may well have been different. An anxious club, scarred by two very difficult Premier League seasons, needs its supporters. Those who chose to boo at the end should stay at home next week and rage on social media instead!
Everton fans
Greg: Tottenham were there for the taking - we just didn't have the inventiveness or the firepower to take advantage of that fact. This will probably be the pattern for the season, with not quite enough quality to exploit these opportunities.
Gerard: I'm a Moyes fan but he always leaves you frustrated. Given all the problems we have, a point is a great effort and well deserved. So why am I frustrated? Because, yet again, Moyes didn't put on our exciting young forward Graham for the last 15 minutes for the totally ineffective Barry. Just a small risk, Davie, for what could have been a huge reward. Other than that, great effort from all.
Dusty: Not the best game to watch so far this season but an away point isn't terrible. Spurs started well and we had to soak up the pressure, which we did well. We grew into the game and I feel it was there to be won. A robust defence and strong midfield stopped us conceding but, again, we need to be more clinical in the final third.
Keith: A resilient performance with lots to be positive about. Goals are the obvious concern. Barry will improve but we need someone now who can chip in and get the crowd behind the team even more to keep up the momentum.
'Outside noise has given us more motivation' - Branthwaitepublished at 09:50 BST 14 September

Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, speaking after Saturday's goalless draw at Tottenham: "A good result in the end.
"The first 10, 15 minutes we knew they would come out fast, start fast, and put us under pressure. I think we dealt with that and grew into the game in the first half and created a few chances towards the end of it.
"In the second half it was probably similar, they came out fast again and we've created a few chances towards the end. Overall, it is a good result at a hard place to come. We take the positives.
"The whole situation with the squad - as players we have seen all the outside noise writing us off and this, I think it has given us more motivation to go out and prove people wring.
"As soon as the window closed people were saying we are going to struggle this season but I think it's just backs to the wall and I think you saw that [against Spurs].
"We picked up a good point and that is what we have to do for the rest of the season."
