Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Sportsound: "If you're going to win a game, it's a good way to do it.

"I didn't think there was a lot between the two sides, which is a compliment to our boys because Hearts are a very good side.

"The final third, I thought we could've been better with our decision making and our final choices. As the game went on, I thought we improved. The subs made a real impact. I believe in what we've brought in.

"We certainly showed the character and the fight that I didn't believe was here last year and certainly that was a real plus for me.

"We have to remember it's one game. You take the criticism when you lose games so I think the players deserve a lot of credit for their mentality. It's a very good result. It's a start but that's all it is."

Hearts head coach Wouter Vrancken tells BBC Sportsound: "Really disappointing because we give it away in five minutes.

"It was good in the defending part, until the last five minutes. We were not ruthless enough in boxes. We had to be smarter. We were going in attack with too many people there instead of keeping control and managing the counter, especially when you are 1-0 ahead.

"Second half, we did some good things and we controlled the game. It's a pity because we had to take three points here.

"It will take some time. When the next game is on again, you have to switch again because you cannot go with these feelings again in the next game. We have to be ready and fully focused again."

Aberdeen have won all five of their competitive matches so far this season.

Hearts have lost all three of theirs.

Kevin Nisbet scored his seventh goal of the season with this 95th-minute penalty winner.

I don't want to be too critical because the overall performance was pretty good. There's a recurring theme, though.

They've lost the game. They aren't taking care of business.

The manager is an attacking type but he needs to get a balance. I was unsure on his substitutions. They are being punished for recurring mistakes.

Hearts had the game won. There was no doubt about that. They were by far the better team in the second half. Aberdeen looked like they had no answers.

Hearts were completely controlling the game.

It was either Lewis Mayo or Kevin Nisbet that got the final touch on the Aberdeen equaliser and the goal has officially been given to Lewis Mayo.
