Another game when Alejandro Garnacho is on the bench for Aston Villa.

Unai Emery is still integrating 10 new signings into his squad as they learn his methods but the Chelsea loanee is not given a chance in the Carabao Cup from the start, with George Hemmings again preferred and impressing early here.

Garnacho has played 31 minutes this season, in three substitute appearances, and was unused in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Emery was lukewarm when discussing Garnacho last week, insisting he needs to see more from the 22-year-old.

Oh no, not one Coventry fans will want to see.

Aurele Amenda hobbles off with what looks like an ankle injury. He's replaced by Ethan Pinnock, who Frank Lampard would probably have preferred to rest tonight.

It's Brighton's own doing after trying to play it out the back. Marcus Rashford does ever so well down the left-hand side.

Mason Mount hits it into the ground and it's a really good finish.

Pascal Gross is going mad at his Brighton teammates.

Wolves want a penalty but don't get one. A replay shows Sean Neave went down very easily so fair enough.

The Carabao Cup third round is a safe space from VAR so that's the end of that anyway.

Tammy Abraham had chances to leave in the summer, rejecting loan moves to Ipswich and Everton, with Aston Villa willing to let him go.

With Nicolas Jackson's £65m arrival he needs to take his chances and it was a really cool finish.

There needs to be recognition for George Hemmings' assist too, the winger has started brightly.

The whistle has already gone for a free-kick to Wolves before Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's first-time shot which is saved anyway.

Fleetwood are doing OK here and following a corner Lewis McCann's low shot is saved.

Nicely worked by Coventry. Yann Gboho loses his marker and slips one through for Victor Torp but he can't quite chase it down.

Everton's Jack Grealish whips in a cross from the left that evades everyone and needs to be palmed away by Joao Virginia. Maybe it was going to hit the post.

Coventry completely capitulated at home on Sunday against Brighton in the league, they've got a young team out here tonight but Frank Lampard would love to see a bounce back from his side against a struggling Aston Villa.

Leny Yoro is lucky he didn't get a yellow card there.

Leny Yoro brings down Malick Yalcouye and that's a free-kick but the Manchester United man could easily have gone into the book for that.

I like how Marcus Rashford has started this season. He looks like he's playing with a smile on his face and the bit between his teeth.

Wolves striker Raul Jimenez is absolutely clattered after the ball goes and he's not too happy about it.

The camera, not for the first time, pans to the prime minsters of the UK and Canada.

Away we go in our later kick-offs in Manchester and in Coventry.

Good keeping by Joao Virginia to catch an Everton corner. I'd say from a former team-mate but not sure how many of these Toffees players he'd ever have actually played alongside.

Is Harry's surname Helm by any chance?
