On an afternoon where there are various mathematical permutations around the country, things are pretty clear-cut for Kilmarnock here at what is a very, very blustery Balmoor Stadium.

A draw against League 1 Peterhead will be enough to see them leapfrog Raith Rovers in top spot in Group H and book their passage through to the knockout stages of the competition.

It is worth noting that there is a scenario where a defeat for second-placed Killie, coupled with a Hamilton Accies win over Elgin, could potentially see them drop out of the top two in the group.

Neil McCann’s side, who have yet to concede a goal, have mustered two wins and one draw that was followed by a penalty shootout bonus point - and they will be strongly backed to get the victory on the Buchan coast this afternoon.

As for Peterhead, they are fourth in the group with a record of one win and two defeats - but with experienced players like Niall McGinn in their ranks, they will believe they can cause their Premiership opponents a few problems, particularly at home.

So who needs what in the final round of League Cup group games?

A draw against Kelty Hearts at Pittodrie would seal top spot in Group A for Aberdeen.

Dundee United top Group B as it stands on nine points, but have played all four of their group matches.

Should Montrose draw or win against Spartans, they will go above the Tannadice outfit, but Jim Goodwin's side would still likely progress as runners-up because of both their points tally and healthy goal difference.

Group D leaders Ross County know a win over Airdrieonians will mean they are unsurpassable, regardless of what Dundee do against Clyde.

Partick Thistle, who finished on nine points and a plus-10 goal difference in Group E, will likely progress even though either Stenhousemuir and Livingston - who play each other on Saturday - would go above the Jags with a win.

St Johnstone must beat League 1 East Fife to keep their hopes of progressing out of Group F alive.

Ayr have already won Group G and sealed their spot in the last 16. No-one else is able to progress, meaning top-flight Falkirk's match against Stranraer is essentially a pre-season friendly.

A draw for Kilmarnock at Peterhead would take them above current Group H leaders Raith Rovers and ensure they top the group.

With one round of fixtures left in the Scottish League Cup group stage, several Premiership sides are at risk of falling at the first hurdle.

Fifteen matches kick off at 15:00 BST this afternoon before St Mirren host Dunfermline on Sunday.

The eight group winners and the three best runners-up progress, joining Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Hibs and Motherwell - Scotland's five European representatives - in the last 16.
