Falkirk manager John McGlynn tells BBC Scotland: "It was a good win against Kilmarnock at the weekend, conditions weren't great but we showed the right attitude to go and play the right way.

"We've been very consistent, barring one or two late goals we could have had even more points. Aberdeen had a good victory here against St Mirren, and they've got a cup semi-final coming up, so they've got plenty to play for.

"We've got to look after ourselves, we can do ourselves a lot of good tonight by getting three points.

"I've seen a difference in the last couple of games, it's really come together. It has slowly been building, but you don't want to get too carried away - just around the corner you can get a kick in the teeth."

Aberdeen head coach Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "One of the changes is enforced, with Connor [Ronan]. Lewis came on and did really well, so he gets a chance.

"We played particularly well with the ball on Saturday so we keep the shape. With an eye on Saturday's game, Jack [Milne] will be the only fit centre-half available to us.

"Kristers [Tobers] is on the bench, he's not played 11 v 11 yet, but needs must unfortunately.

"Consistency is key and if you pick a consistent team every week, you're doing something right. We've constantly had to change it for various reasons, illness, loss of form, injuries. That doesn't help with the consistency or confidence."

St Johnstone head coach Simo Valakari tells BBC Scotland: “It’s good to get back playing quite soon after that game and especially at home so I’m expecting a good football match. Two good footballing teams who want to play football so we will see how that goes.

“It’s not all about creating those chances we need to be more solid at the back as well, conceding 4 goals hurts us. Against Motherwell you need to defend solid, you need to be a collective unit because they want to play through you with the ball, so you need to really work as a team.

“As we know in this league it’s small margins. As I always say every game starts from a clean plate. Of course, they want to come here to get a result so it’s a challenge for us but we’re very much looking forward to it.”

The first whistle sounds at Pittodrie. The others won't be far behind.

Hearts v Rangers is an eight o'clock start.

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has been asked about his year in charge and tells BBC Scotland: "It seems like the longest year of my life. I think the moment of real enjoyment was watching young Osmand running 60-70 yards to put the ball in the net for us to win the league.

"We followed it up the following week by winning the Scottish Cup. Just nice to have done that, but that's consigned to history.

"We have had ups and downs this season, but domestically we've been fine and hopefully we can keep that up tonight."

Asked about striker Kasper Hogh's goal drought, O'Neill says: "It seems to be continuous talk about Kasper and there's no doubt strikers thrive on goals. In terms of goals, he's having a tough time, but he worked hard for us against Hibs and, if he keeps going, something will work for him."

As for rival boss Jim Goodwin, he adds: "I think a lot of him. He is a proper gentleman in a game that's devoid of a lot of gentleman and he's a super coach and has got his side up and running."

St Mirren manager Craig McLeish tells BBC Scotland: "Ismeal Kabia has picked something up with his calf.

"We got it scanned and it showed up something a little bit worse than we all thought. We need a bit of time to assess that as we only found out about it today.

"You can stand here and moan about it [injuries] or make excuses but we've got a squad, Chris Mochrie has been great all season and has an opportunity to come in tonight.

"Our football has always been there, we're a really good team when we fight and run and outwork the opposition, really stick together and show that side of our game. We're trying to be resilient and tough to play against and we've not shown that in some games this season. That's the message tonight, how we play on the ball but it's our off the ball stuff that's also so important."

Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin recalls coming through as a youth with Celtic under current counterpart Martin O'Neill.

"I was predominantly in the reserves and I remember him giving me a hard time for picking up yellow cards," he tells BBC Scotland.

"He was quite ruthless and there was an aura about him. He ran the place from top to bottom and had unbelievable success."

As for United's fourth place and five-game unbeaten run, Goodwin says: "I am delighted. You will hear lots of managers saying they are not bothering about the league table, but it's nice when you look at it, but that can change pretty quickly in this league.

"We just have to maintain our focus, try to continue with the high standards we've shown up to now. Collectively, we look really strong."

As for the 51-game run without a win at Celtic Park, the United boss adds: "Hopefully tonight doesn't dampen our spirits and we put this three decade hoodoo behind us."

Motherwell manager Alfred Johansson tells BBC Scotland: “That’s everything [to stick to the process]. When you are doing well you have to keep everyone grounded and calm and now it’s the same. You have to stay calm and you need to focus on what’s going to help you take the next step.

“If we play the way we do against Hearts you can’t not pick up points. We’re going in the right direction and we’re going to get people back from sickness and injury that will boost the team. We have Fadinger and Charles-Cook back on the bench today so this will turn around for us. It’s a matter of time."

After a wild weekend of weather, it's nice to come to a game with lovely calm conditions as we have at McDiarmid Park.

St Johnstone are looking to bounce back after their 4-0 defeat at Ibrox last time out, but Motherwell's need for a win is far greater.

They are on a wretched run of six consecutive defeats, and while manager Alfred Johansson continues to cut a relaxed figure, fully believing things will turn for his team, he knows the importance of stopping the rot and quickly.

An intriguing game in store.

Ravaged by illness and hit by injury, the Dons' selection woes couldn't have come at a worse time, particularly with Saturday’s Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Rangers looming.

Despite those problems, with his side ninth in the Premiership, head coach Stephen Robinson knows he needs to find a way of racking up the wins and tonight would be a good place to start.

Given all of the above, and the outside noise that seems ever present at Pittodrie these days, Falkirk would be forgiven for thinking the hosts are there for the taking.

The Bairns will certainly be making the journey in confident mood after winning their last two games.

It's well over two years since St Mirren beat Hibs in Paisley: Oisin Smyth bagged a double in a 3-0 win on 4 August, 2024.

The Buddies may feel they are due a result against the green half of the capital - especially since in the last two encounters with Hibs they've not so much as scored a goal, going down 3-0 at home last November before losing 2-0 at Easter Road in February.

New Hibs boss Marink Reedijk won't worry at all how many goals his side scores, as long as the first win of his managerial tenure is secured at the fourth attempt.

Killie boss Neil McCann started and finished his senior career with Dundee and began his managerial journey at Dens Park.

He has been back as a manager before, losing with Inverness Caley Thistle in March 2021.

Motherwell are bidding to arrest a slump of six successive league defeats against a St Johnstone side that has been solid in Perth.

The Saints have two wins and two draws from their five home games, having lost out 1-0 to champions Celtic last month.

After beating Hibs and Kilmarnock, Falkirk are looking to make it three wins on the spin and were unbeaten across three meetings with Aberdeen last season.

Both teams have scored five goals across their past two fixtures, with Jacob Murrell getting three of those for the Bairns.

The American forward is on five from eight outings since arriving from DC United.

Last season, Marink Reedijk enjoyed an unbeaten 'invincibles' league campaign with Beveren in the Belgian second tier.

The Dutchman has had three games with Hibs and lost them all...

Early days, but propping up the table brings obvious pressure and he could really do with a lift before Sunday's League Cup semi-final against Edinburgh rivals Hearts.

Dundee have won two and drawn two of their five home games this season, while Kilmarnock are bottom of the away form table, with four points and a -5 goal difference from their five road trips.

Dundee United have not won at Celtic Park in any competition since December 1992.

However, Jim Goodwin's team did beat the champions twice at Tannadice last season.

Hearts have not lost at home in the league for 17 months.

With a long injury list, is that record at risk against their former gaffer?

A year has passed since Martin O'Neill's surprise return to Celtic.

It's been a busy 12 months for the 74-year-old manager, who celebrated a league and Scottish Cup double in May after a brief break during the ruinous reign of Wilfried Nancy, and says being back in the dugout has "rejuvenated me in many aspects".

There have been some significant bumps in the road this season, with two Old Firm losses and chastening defeats in Europe, but a win percentage of nearly 75% since October 2025 is similar to the club record level during his trophy-laden five years in charge to 2005.

St Johnstone manager Simo Valakari has made three changes from their 4-0 defeat at Ibrox on Saturday. Matty Todd, Jason Holt and Ruari Paton replace Liam Smith, Joel Cotterill and Josh Campbell.

Motherwell have named an unchanged team from their defeat to Hearts on Saturday. Reegan Charles-Cook and Lukas Fadinger return to the bench.
